Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You're right in that we can't drop them all.

You're wrong to give him another week.

He's a momentum killer. @ProDee was right. His 4 goals last week was the worst thing that came out of that game. He can't kick, he can't handpass and he's fumbly. We simply cannot feature him in our forward line. Get him out.

Spot on. I remember Harmes kicking four mainly junk time goals a couple of years ago. Thought it was the worst four goal games I'd seen. Until last week. Still, agreed you can't drop a bloke after a 4 goal game but it was dollars to donuts he was going to revert to type this week. He is simply not good enough and in my view, never will be. And for his defenders who will suggest that he was not the only player to fumble or give off poor disposals, he did it last week as well. When he was "on fire"

To be fair, a few of us having been decrying his inclusion for a while now. He should be a certain delister for mine.

Bugg plays like he doesn't want the ball. Fumbly, nervy, inaccurate. If he doesn't turn that around, and at his age the odds are against him, then this will be his final year on our list. A side like Carlton may take him for a year to shield the younger bodies, but he's lost his mongrel since he knocked out Mills and allows himself to be pushed around. He's suffering a crisis of confidence and AFL level is not the place to sort it out.

Bugg should be dropped. He is so nervous about making mistakes or doing the wrong thing he has lost all instinct. There was a point when he was in the fwd 50 and on his left foot he instead handballed to Harmes who was in a worse position and had to kick on his left foot - which he duly missed. You could actually 'see' his thought process. To me it encapsulated how he is playing.

I used to think that he was kicking points and it would be a different conversation if he kicked 15g 9h instead of the opposite. But he is a clear liability now.

4 points could have been 4 goals and we may have thought differently about him.

The issue for me is that last weeks kicking was an aberration not this weeks kicking. From the day he stepped through the door he has missed the most gettable of goals. So having a small forward that cant kick is a small forward that is not worth having.

The shame for me is throughout his stay with us he has shown that he can get enough shots on goal.  He just cannot kick straight. (what is worse - as a supporter  your heart just sinks when he misses such easy shots - you do wonder the impact on the team. You work so hard to get opportunities to score to have the end kicker not able to convert). Therefore he has no value as a small forward. He is not a midfielder and he is not a back. Therefore he has no real value period.

One of a thousand pre-requisites for the whole team. It just must be done.

The thing about Bugg is he gets to the right position and takes marks inside 50

It is a dichotomy of suitability for the team. He cannot take all of the blame for the result against Whoreform, however. He does need to practice with thousands of kicks at goal week in, week out as he is pathetic at this skill - my grandmother could do better and she passed away over 30 years ago. Bugg adds nasty to the team, Bugg irritates other teams, Bugg gets into interesting positions to receive the ball some of the time, Bugg stuffs up nine out of ten times and fumbles. It just isn't too much to ask. A few weeks, at least, back at Casey and a bit more effort to address these mandatory football skills at training and away from training.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
