FWIW. James Hird missed all but two games of the 1999 season with a serious navicular injury. Came back to captain a premiership team in 2000. Won subsequent B & F's and AA selections. There is hope for Jesse with an injury that appears a lot less serious and apparently caught earlier.

Yes, but what did he [Hird] take, given his coaching mantra "whatever we take", to get over it?

And any updates on Kent's injury?

Tyson has a fracture of the ulna a couple of inches up from the wrist. It has been screwed and plated. Outside chance to be fit for first final.

Kent injured his R/H ac joint (opposite side to the one reconstructed last year). The collarbone is slightly displaced. No news re;           1) which of the 3 possibilities below if any (diagram downloaded from Dr Google) or 2) recovery time.

Watched that Tyson collision on the replay today... looked so innocuous.

Here's hoping

In an ideal world, would prefer Tyson to whoever his replacement would be. His games since returning from the VFL have been more than decent - even on the weekend, in less than a half of footy he managed 13 disposals - and at 100% efficiency.

Question then becomes, how do he and Viney co exist?

Remember Tyson was dropped originally cos Viney was back and we had too many inside mids.

I think it will depend on where they play viney. Is he dangerous enough to replace Kent as a forward? Goody said on the couch that he would play a bit forward and a bit of midfield.

I'm still sceptical

I spoke with one of the MFC coaches on Sunday, Viney certain to play. Might play half vs Geelong VFL, would have played vs Giants if we had lost to WCE. Pretty insightful chatting to a coach must admit, some other insights I really enjoyed hearing.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
