Was excellent today.

Great vision, thinking in traffic and very quick hands.  Can see him dishing out some lightning handballs from a congested midfield in the coming years.

thanks for that mate, do you think he will stay a small forward or go for short bursts into the middle?

For this year he'll most likely spend it all up forward. Next year I see him playing a forward midfield burst in the same vein as Caleb Daniel.

His junior years were spent in the midfield and he was absolutely dominant back then.

Its exactly what i thought watchibg him hit packs. Fearless little guy. Look forward to seeing what he does over the rest of the year.

Speaking of Daniel, I bet the other Albury boy Chrossy keeps him under his wing

I always liked having Bugg in the side because of his ability to agitate, but his skills would constantly frustrate. I think we may have found his replacement in Spargo.

By the way dazzle, not having a go at you mate and I really appreciate the inside info you shared, but GWS couldn't have been that filthy about losing the rights to him? As they overlooked him one pick before us.

I wouldn’t underestimate the impact he had today. He was a team lifter. Used it really smartly and finished off the hard work early when others couldn’t. Like Fritzel he’s looking an excellent pick up

not sure fritzel is a good nickname, binman

google a certain austrian pos named fritzl

I've always been envious of other sides who bring in new players who seem to slot in straight away. I can't remember offhand a Melbourne player like that ... until now. He looks like he belongs !!! I realise that young players often lack consistency, and CS will no doubt have his good and bad games. But he looks a ripper !!!

I think the difference is that Charlie had two blokes ready to back him up if things went further.

Jack sadly got rag dolled but everyone looked on like bloody guppy fish.

Gysberts and Tapscott. May their spirits stay the [censored] away from Charlie.

Clarry had fair debut, too. Just wish he went on with it...

This kid can play. One of the better first games. Will get better. Should have been a top 5 .

It’s P-man ?

I’m aware. We’ve run with Pedo as a nickname for a while now. Bit late to be calling in the nickname police.

Bloody hell I just read hes 18.. doesn't turn 19 until November.  So he will play of 2019 as a 19 year old.

His age and size make his physical play even more impressive. Amazing stuff.

Could be our first rising star nomination in a long time. On that, is Fritsch too old for rising star?  Had another good game and clearly too good for VFL.

Yeah he is too old unfortunately

Super debut.  Can't recall a decent 'consistent' crumbing small at the MFC since the Wiz.  Fingers crossed he grows  into something special for us.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
