Amazing interview. Still can't quite believe this happened!

I wonder what made him accept an interview after all this time?

Most of all love that he chose to give it to a fan podcast. There's something really admirable about that.

While you,re on a winning streak , could you go after the other Jako, you know the roof tiler from Nunawading.

Now that would be enlightening and help develop your interviewing technique !

Another Jako article, oh boy.   Your interview is the gift that will keep on giving.

It still feels surreal that the great man has emerged to speak...  cant imagine what it must have been like talking to him.

And who was the other interviewer, was that nasher?

Anyway, great job guys.  Just amazing.   As good as it gets, and it will never be topped any footy journo, or anyone else.

The next logical step is a movie, how about "Looking for Jako", adapting the script directly from Looking for Eric! After all there are many similarities between Cantona and Jako in terms of mercurial talent, goal scoring and eccentricities on the field. Similar age and playing period the only difference was longevity, I suppose.

Thanks for the interview guys. I’ve watched the YouTube clips above many times already but who needs an excuse to watch brilliance like that again and again and again?

jako was like a comet who lit up he sky all to briefly then disappeared into oblivion

......until he rose like a phoenix on a demonland podcast, and the fans did rejoice, and there was much feasting and drinking of countless replays

all power to demonland (andy)

Great effort Demonland, thoroughly enjoyed the podcast.

I am a sucker for the showy players Jakovich, Farmer, Jurrah, Petracca etc.. So much enjoyment from Jakovich for such a short time.

We were cruelled by injuries in that era. Jako himself, Prymke, Charles, Lyon, Tingay, Schwarz, Glenn Lovett, could go on and on

Great work getting the interview. And what a great interview it was. Jako was amazing and had such great recall of his time at Melbourne. Great to hear he's still a massive dees fan.

Have had a busy week, so have only been able to finish listening today.  It was absolutely brilliant!  Its amazing that he hasn’t been public before as he has so many stories that he tells so well!

I started getting interested in footy in the early 90s and Jakovich was plastered all over my bedroom walls.  I vividly remember lying on my bedroom floor listening to the Melbourne matches on the radio and recording his goals (and his many behinds) on the newspaper team sheets- then watching the highlights with Drew Morphett at 6:30.  (Kids nowadays have it too easy.

Was amazing how much detail he could recall and his understanding of the game and the personalities involved is top notch.  He’ll always be a fan favourite and is the kind of player you tell your kids about.  The amazing thing being that all the YouTube footage that is now turning up actually confirms your memories of his skills and excitement rather than exposes them as exaggerations- he really was that good!

Best of all, I’m glad he’s doing well and is happy with his life after footy.  A concern when players completely vanish from the face of the earth, despite attempts to find them, is that they may have fallen on hard time.  Jako sounds happy and fulfilled with his life and has put things into their right perspective and that’s great to hear!

Well done on the best podcast interview I’ve ever heard.

Well done guys. Great to listen to. Two hours went by in a blink. Brilliant hearing the great man reminisce and as TPF39 mentioned above, equally good to hear he's enjoying a happy & fulfilling life.

Damn that boy could play !

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
