The Big Dance - Grand Final Day, 2017

Featured Replies

Crows have saved there worst game for the most important day.  Being here they have done Melbourne errors.  Over handballing no structure. Richmond's pressure has been great.

How dare Bernie set his wedding date a week after the granny, Tex obviously more concerned about his Best Man speech.

Houli BOG by a mile. Would be great if he takes home Norm.

AFL just needs to orchestrate a move to G.W.S now to get the fully sick boys on board.

This would have to be the most insipid performance by a team that dominated a season that i have ever seen. Not even giving a yelp. And if anyone thinks that Lever is worth even one first round pick then you have got rocks in your head.

Levers 1st half was excellent, tigers dominated the 3rd lever can only do so much

From the afl site... probably the story of this game:

Richmond now lead contested marks 11-7, and when the teams met earlier in the season, the Crows took a competition-high 25 such marks.

I'm watching the game where Houli is BOG. By a long way. 20 more AF points than the next Tiger.

Been a team effort by the Tiges, but up tot 3/4 time Houli is best

Time to get Lever off...no point risking injury now.

what a wonderful  dream for any supporter

46 points up 8 mins into the last quarter

Hell.... I'm jealous

AND then the Crows kick 2 quick goals !!

Wouldn't think Adelaide can win but I'd love for Richmond fans to sh!t themselves. :P

If I was a Richmond supporter I'd still be feeling nervous.

12 minutes can see 5 goals kicked easily.

Not today

Appalling umps, unless you're one-eyed Richmond

Don't think so either.

Home now.

Some of Adelaide's "stars" have ben putrid.

Talia worst on ground, Lynch putrid, Eddie nowhere. Brown, Hartigan. And of course Tex.

Tiges won't get more favourable umpiring for another century.

May as well make the most of it.

Worst performance by any GF side since 1988 easily.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
