The Club wants Jack out and will get the best pick they can. Competition for him is hotting  up. The Pies, Swans, Port and the Cars apparently so far. Many Tiger and Pies supporters today calling in on SEN asking how Watts can get to their Clubs. He is in demand and unfortunately given a second chance at a bigger Club than the MFC, is likely to be a star and fulfil his potential. It could be at the Pies with his good mate, Howe. That would be horrible and a pity it has not worked out at the Dees.

a star? lol.

Have we contemplated telling Jack that he has to do a MASSIVE pre-season to stay at the club in order to have the tank to move into the midfield full time ie He is absolutely our intelligent 2nd ruck like Shaun Grigg/Pedo, but instead he moves into the outside mid role when Gawny rucks. He waits on the edge of every pack to receive the Oliver handball and kick to a player in space or he goes in and applies heat.

"You can stay but you won't be playing forward. Also here's a helmet, you'll be needing it this year"

If that is true red then Connors is a disgrace

It isnt his business he is there to look after Jacks interests and obviously doing a pretty poor job of it

Jack should sack him! Those comments do nobody any good and makes Connors look like a real tool

Is Connors the one that wants everyone to get pie eyed

Pick 6 is a great outcome, if it happens...

Think about it . pick 10 or pick 6 . Adelaide are going to get that plus one more pick . at present they are asking for pick 10 and our first pick for 2018. If we exchange pick 10  for pick 6, then we virtually give Jack to the filth for nothing. please do some research before posting

If Jack wants to go to the Filth i would rather get Pick 6 than have pick 10. Gives us more Room to move with Radelaide

i have done my research thankyou

no need to be so rude new boy

that only works if we give crows pick 6 and nothing else   i.e. no second rounder therefore we effectively get pick 27 for jack

Sure. That was my thinking

keep next years draft right out of it.

It’s a good one they keep telling us

6 is a lot better than 10 in a shallow draft.

Finally some facts. Dont forget Jack averaged 15 disposals over his whole career. This of course included his first year as a 17 year old when he averaged 9. It is also fact that he played in a crappy team that did not very often honour his leads due to poor skills and other reasons. A lot on here are clouded by their own il informed dislike of Jacks footy. Have a read of jack Watts on Wikipedia to see the real facts.

Did someone really compare Tom Lynch to Jack Watts on here.  Let's put some stats up to try and prove a point.  Maybe just go and watch a game a footy.

This place has lost it.

It's a no brainer then, Jack should go

Or is this what ruthless looks like? Some people like to speak in bumper sticker slogans but when the time comes it appears they become squeamish.

I think we are discussing different matters 'vibes.

Ruthless - we need more of it.

However, the Watts situation is looking plain silly.

Here is a 170 game player and poster boy, and for all his acknowledged faults, still , on his day a matchwinner publicly proclaiming his love and loyalty, while the club  is apparently trying to show him the door.

This with the background of a team that specializes in shitty disposal and is hungry for goalkickers - Jack's two strengths.

At the same time we are bringing in a defender on megabucks.

Is this the publicity a "destination" club needs?

I got to know him quite well when our boys were at primary school together  and he's a good bloke, albeit with a healthy ego.

He probably says more than he should on occasions, but he's most definitely a decent fellow.

Tool if he has advised Jack this way

I am not being rude. I am stating fact. Adelaide want our first pick this year. Whether it is 6 or 10 will not sway the crows. they want our first pick plus more.

Now that's a furphy. The fact that so many have referred back to 1 game (2017 QB vs average side) as their sole reference as a match winner, suggests that he rarely does it. Even on that day, he wasn't BOG.

Kind of reminds me of the Spencer fans who kept referring back to the game against Geelong. Spencer was at the club for 10 seasons, and had 1 memorable game.

Put pick 6 under there nose for a few days and they will look at it differently.

Particularly if Cameron is leaving as well

Wanting is not receiving though merv.

I think a solid p.r campaign could sway the Crows into considering pick 6 on its own, or with maybe a 3rd/4th rd pick attached at worst.

Pick 10 & Watts (converted to pick 6) is reasonably fair for Lever. I would be more ticked off at Colonwood picking up a much loved club favourite, for only a 4 pick downgrade.

I appreciate your view even though I don't agree. however your comment about "New boy:" is poor form. I have been on this forum since before 2010 and read most items . I have not posted much because I haven't bothered because there is far too many  Il informed comments. But This particular topic is very close to my heart.

This talk of him going to the Pies is sickening. For one we have a terrible track record when trading with them, and recently discarded players seen to improve there (though I have nothing against Dunn or Howe). Plus there’s the history between Jack himself and the Pies, I’d just about vomit seeing him wear black and white.

Agree - I don't think I could cope...

Ill informed comments are only your opinion a lot of the time

People have differing views and passion levels

As i always say. We all sit in different seats at the MCG

Adelaide would be mad not to consider Pick 6 in a shallow draft

But it’s up to them

Of course if Watts is seen touring other clubs the MFC has to say something.  But it could have said something like "The Club and Jack Watts have decided to explore options other than him completing his current contract at the Demons."  Say no more, let others who want to speculate on why to speculate. No need to list Jack's faults (hardly a good bargaining position since making it clear he is 99% gone is information even well-informed clubs may not know for sure).  Just refuse to comment further.   Listing his faults publically is not good people management.  If the club wants to send a message to the rest of the players, they can easily do so in private.  The message sent now is that if you don't live up to expectations you can expect to be publically humiliated.   Now some may think that is a good management style to motivate the team. I don't.

Well put Sue. From a people management viewpoint the clubs handling of this matter has been apalling and shameful. Sends a terrible message to other players that they can also be humiliated and hung out to dry in the public domain. Respect is a word that comes to mind and players need to be treated respectfully otherwise the club will whither.

KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
