It became pick 22 I think.

We also coincidently had pick 23 as a compensation pick for Colin Sylvia which we traded to Adelaide for Bernie Vince.  Adelaide then used this pick to select Matt Crouch who has gone on to be an All Australian midfielder and win their B&F by the age of 22.  Bernie had been great for us however I think Adelaide would be happy with that deal.

Classic win/win trade that one.

We got an experienced mid which we lacked who has won a B&F for us and will bring up 100 club games this year.

Both teams would be very happy I suspect.

Planning on heading to Trevor Baker Oval today to watch Sandy play my home town (Frankston). Will keep a close eye on Billings to see what his intent is like.

Who did they play?

I will bet my left arm it was one of the standalone VFL teams that get flogged every week.

That is what Billings should do when dropped back to the VFL. Most AFL players - even those of a lower standard - should be dominating the VFL when dropped back. Confidence booster for Billings. He needed it.

They smashed Frankston who are poo. If I'm reading it right, VFL do a 6,5,4,3,2,1 vote system for each team? Billings only got the 1 vote for Sandy, with 53 touches and 3 goals. ?

Remember that JKH constantly racks up massive possessions against better VFL teams than Frankston for Casey, yet struggles at AFL level. ?

That's the website hosting the league ladders & scoring for the VFL & many local footy leagues. 1 = best on. 6 = 6th best. Means nothing from a club or B&F perspective. Stupid way of doing it but no-one cares enough to jack up about it

Billings is a talented player. He was great in 2017 despite his inaccurate goal kicking and put up similar numbers to Petracca. If he wanted out and it didn't cost much, we'd be mental not to have a crack. He's clearly lacking confidence at the moment and is playing in a sh*t team where it's hard to build momentum. With a fresh start and some confidence I have no doubt he could be a seriously handy player. Any player who can crack a 30 touch 5 goal game at AFL level has to have some talent and skill!

Was there today and have to say despite his figures he was very unimpressive.

Didn't sight him that much early when Frankston were still having a real crack, but from about half way through the 2nd when Frankston dropped their intensity that's when Billings started to get a lot of cheap hanball receives and strutted around like a peacock.

Personally I'd be more keen on taking a chance on Nathan Freeman's hamstring then Billings on their output and intensity today.

He had 14 touches and a goal in the first quarter when the game was still hot. Either you're biased or blind.

Don't support St kilda or know Billings or anyone else associated with St Kilda. Also not going to dispute the stats, but if he did have 14, they were an unremarkable 14. Wasn't noticeable till the 2nd as I said, although if u were there you're welcome to give your take.

Nope, nope, nope! He's a bust we fortunately avoided.

Saints will play hardball for him, but his value is very low. Not even close to a first rounder at this point.

Saints fans must cry themselves to sleep knowing who went at #4.

Little bit of Benken around him. If you traded a second rounder for him, you'd likely be eyeing the second rounder's career as a comparison, and not be happy with what you see.

The real question is... we'll have plenty of players wanting to play for us. So do we need him over another small forward who's keen on the red and blue? Is there even ROOM in our 22 for a small forward? MFC's small forward brigade would, as of now, be one of the hardest roles to get a game in league wide. When you consider our starting Fs, there always seems to be about 14 of them. So good luck to anyone trying to squeeze those guys out.

I'm all for the trading of a 3rd rounder, or a past-it spud for a former top 4 pick. As long as the club realises that's all they're doing. Trading for pretty much a draft bust.

Billings has had a poor season, but you are really selling him short.

He is a very good player and every club in the afl will be interested if he is on the market.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
