If we get him he won't kick 60 goals a year, but he will be dangerous under the long ball because he's 200cm tall and reasonably strong. That makes our whole forward line work better and requires the opposition play their best defender on him.

You can build a forward line around that.

Would you do a Angus Brayshaw for Ben Brown straight swap?

No but would do a Tmac swap deal plus Oscar!

He was not drafted until he was 21, so only 7 years in the system. I would think he has at least 4 years left. Would they offload Polec and Brown for a second round pick? Guess how much salary we are prepared to take on would be a factor?

That would be a super deal but could not see them going for it.Second round pick and a player say T Mac??

Take it and run. Salary swap Polec for T Mac - makes our side better straight away.

We've seen how our side looks better this year with a few additions (May (for reals this time), Kozzie, Langdon); those two would make our side better, or at worst, Casey better.

Polec is a culture killer. No thanks

How do you know this Moon?

Is it your opinion or have you heard things?

If we did get him he'd probably take the oppositions best full back therefore giving weiderman a free up by having the 2nd or 3rd best defender on him.

Mostly my view DOX. Polec seems to be easily let go by clubs, despite being a decent footballer

It's all a matter of 1 2 and 3rd defenders on Brown  Weid And say Petty or Jacko.

I'm really torn on this one. under Goody we don't play a style that suits him. Brown is more of a lead up forward and we're looking to get it in deep and either mark it or bring it to ground.

BUT, he'd still take the best defender, encourage the mids to lower their eyes and take a heap of pressure off Sam Weideman

I’m not sure I could handle a team with so many cartoon lookalikes.  First beavis and butthead, now sideshow Bob?  Need a lie down and a scotch....

Would you consider throwing in Spargo to seal the deal picket?

A Spargo back at Arden Street might tempt Norf. I personally like Spargo myself.

Can we chuck in Goodwin too.

Any club in need of an experienced key forward must be looking at Brown. I'd be taking him in a heartbeat if the price is right.

Brown has been a very good player and is probably going to be traded for under value.

But we have invested a lot in Jackson and Weideman and they both need AFL games for development. I am not convinced that a forward line of Brown, Jackson and Weideman can work. Brown and Weideman are basically non chasers/tacklers. We need a third tall who can also apply pressure, because Weideman isn't able to do it.

Interesting also how many people have written off Tom McDonald, but imagine that Brown will miraculously return to form in new colours.

I think TMac's future will be decided by Burgo and the doctors. If they say he can fix his speed and agility issues we'll probably keep him but if those creaking ankles aren't improving then he would be trade bait.

He would help our free kick for/against differential - gets paid more free kicks than anyone else in the AFL

Not sure I could ever like the 50 metre run up when he kicks for goal - so ridiculous

Lazy and doesn't apply pressure

A few more goals from our key forwards - that would be good

So torn of this one

Now you're just winding picket up into a lather, Uncle!

Brown, Mihocek and Jackson/Weid.. with a combo of Kosi and Spargo/Hunt crumbing..?

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
