GAMEDAY - Round 14

Featured Replies

not playing well as a team, need to tighten up, we can play far better than this. Lucky our defense is doing well. Main issue is always going to be pettrie we always had trouble with him when he played for north

If that was our bad quarter we'll be quite alright. Welcome back Maxy !

We should be 4 goals down.

Nah. Defending well. Taking our chances. They are rushing it in and our defenders are managing easily.

Must start playing the game on our terms otherwise we will get smashed.

Stop handballing for gods sake!

Just kick it long. Id put Petracca in the forward line as a traget. Missing Watts's lead up tonight. But we got back on track and hopefully go better in the 2nd quarter. can see the difference having Max back is making already.

Lewis hit your targets and I hope the players are wearing the right boots because its frustrating seeing them just fall over.

Twice he rushed his kick from a mark, should know better.

Lewis has been very poor.

Harmes, Bugg, Pedo unsighted. Geez we'd look different with Watts, Hogan and Jones playing.

pedo got us a goal

In trouble early despite what the scoreboard says.  Garlett having one of those slipping fumbling nights.

We look ordinary and will get done unless we switch on in decision making and intensity (excepting Viney)

How can we be so clean against dogs and go back to the laziest ineffective manic  handballing like today?

Frost needs to think now and then before he releases the ball. Lewis needs to wake up. Melksham should never chip kick, Even Trac is making poor decisions. Lucky to be in this.

I hate Petrie and everyone that plays or has ever played for North

Except Pederson?

Memory has been erased

Any Melbourne supporter that actually has memories of Pedersen playing for North definitely watches entirely too many North Melbourne games for my liking.

Very lucky to be in front, Eagles have missed some very gettable opportunities and completely wasted their inside 50s. We've taken our chances for the most part and the defence has held relatively strong under the barrage.

We need to get some composure though, our usually good ball users were off that quarter (Salem excluded) and our usually bad ball users are continuing their trend.

Reset and reload.

Too much handball.  Start kicking longer to the hot spots.  Great example was Frost not kicking long to a possible Jeffy when he broke free off HB. Hand balled and turned it over!

Viney is killing it. Get Tracca in the middle for Lewis. Lewis will be a good coach next season, but he ain't much of a player anymore.

We need to be cleaner especially jeffy

That Basil clown just called Pedo 'Garland'. WTF??!!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
