Very possible.

Hibberd ran the game out and had plenty of the ball and used it pretty well.

Pedo rucked most of the day and got 32 possies as well.

Probably one of the more interesting debuts for mine..Hibberd.

our backline needs a bit of his no-nonsense I-know-what-I'm -doing  sort of devil may care.

Over the years weve had some good intercept players who could read the ball really well  and cut off many an attack. More recent  being Clint Bizell and Jared Rivers.  I see a bit of these in Hibberd though I think Hibberd may have the most effective kick  out of those three.

I think his inclusion will rewire the dynamics of our backline....in a good way

Bugg was my initial thought too, but, physically, I can't see him competently being able to compete with Martin.

A player like Dusty... there just isn't anyone that leaps to mind. And that's league wide.

I like to think opposition fans have the same worry when it comes to Hogan.

yeah from a source.

To my way of thinking, in line with His policy, will try them out this year and stuff the finals. Could see it after R3....i think

I tipped JKH to come back in just purely on gut feel, O. McDonald would be a very strange inclusion.

Would my Fox bill be less if i had the sound turned off during AFL Games?

FWIW, when Harmes plays out of the defensive 50, I see him as one of our biggest liabilities. If he's to say in the side, I'd much rather him remain a forward.

Not too sure about Hannan - even in the VFL he played as a forward, didn't he? I'm not suggesting it's pointless, I just don't know enough about Hannan to make an informed decision.

Sorry. Bad syntax on my part. I meant that Hannan could be omitted or Harmes could go to the backline. I wasn't thinking of Hannan to the backline, although upon re-reading my post I can understand why you thought so.

Is that a hunch or from yoir source?

You have been known to be spot on with most things before it comes out in the media.

Haha, I like how you played that info as your own, D3. ;)

Oh god I hope not. Frost has some weapons, but smarts isn't one of them. Dusty will kick 6 if he gets him. I can't think of one guy that can go with him one on one. Whatever double team he gets, Vince should be one of them. High footy IQ required.

Bugg & Harmes sharing the role.... might keep him to 2 or 3 goals

I hope we are putting a bit of time into dusty I would be telling the players if your going to try tackling him put your head down and go as low as you can that way if he tries his famous fend off good chance he will get you high and you could draw a free kick, im surprised players don't do this against him he is a bull and almost impossible to tackle

The Oscar, Frost and Tommy Mc backline worked pretty well at times last year. Means we actually get good aerial coverage and allows Frost and Oscar to position in to spots that used their strengths.

Frost plays as the full back sweeper and can run his way out of trouble. Oscar gets involved in more marking contests where he isn't directly responsible for a key forward and can intercept and then use his kicking skills which are mostly decent after intercepting. He kicks nicely after a mark. Disposes poorly when on the run.

That said.. I'd imagine Hibberd is priority 1 for the backline. So unless he isn't right I wouldn't bring in Oscar. And Harmes would be my next choice to replace Melksham as well.

JKH. I think Goody likes him and he had a big summer. Can be a strange decision maker but is another who can kick the ball pretty nicely when in time and space. I wouldn't be at all disappointed in him having a run in ANB's high half forward role. I still have belief he can be a long term player in that role.

We always beat Richmond.

I'd like Bugg out and Pedobear in.

Give Watts a day off the ruck and attack through him.

He tends to kick a few against the tigers as well.

Martin won't kick goals if the ball doesn't go down there. Beat them in the middle and we win the game.

Just on 7 news.

Martin with a groin injury concern. should get up but wont be 100% fit.

Hibberd right in the frame to get selected on Monday.

HIs girlfriend would be worried.

Also Petracca mentioned on Triple M before that Weideman had a big swelling on his corked thigh. Will run tomorrow.

Perhaps only about her next tattoo or piercing. She will be on half a million a year anyway.

Melbourne is probably Martin's poorest performing team against. What have we done in the past?

Richmond are in great form. Melbourne is not. We have players out of form and an unsettled lineup.  Unless something changes our defence is going to be under serious pressure. Martin and Riewoldt could cause some serious damage. Usually optimistic playing the tigers but not looking forward to this one. Could get ugly.

Richmond is [censored].  They have beaten rubbish teams in Carlton, Collingwood, Brisbane and West Coast on a wet day in Melb.  Dees are not in bad form, they just had a bad qtr against Freo.  We were by far the better side against Geelong and had Gawn not gone down we win.

The Hulk comes in and we win!!!

Agree with much except our chances.

Interesting game ahead.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
