It's not the first time I've heard of Higan going home for family reasons, when I mentioned it a week or so back I was nailed to the cross. You can't blame the kid, big loss for us IF it happens.

I understand what you're saying, but it seems that Hogan really loves the club. We have supported him enormously through what has been presumably the toughest year of his life and I can't see us involving him in a trade unless he requested it, which I don't think he has. He seems like a quiet and reserved guy and it is probably for this reason the 'homesick' stigma is so frequently attached to him. But I think Hoges loves it at our club and has some great friends in people like Brayshaw, who also has had an incredibly tough year.

I just don't see the club getting Lever via a trade involving Hogan - particularly given we just resigned him at the end of last year's season.

I Have NOT once said Hogan doesn't love the club. Nor can I remember saying he would be involved in the Lever trade. All I said was I wouldn't blame him if he did go home. Also all I said was it's not the first I've heard of it, plenty of talk out there about it. Use someone else for target practice lol

Lol that wasn't an attack and I wasn't trying to imply you did, but sorry if my thoughts so greatly stirred you up... I promise not to 'target' you again

All good mate, just having a laugh, wasn't the first time someone misunderstood me. No sweat mate

Not sure Freo would have room in their cap to fit Hogan in - they've just re-signed Fyfe to a mega deal, and they're currently in the process of re-signing most of their young crew. From a selfish POV it would suit Hogan (if he were to go home) to go to WC where he could play second role KPF to Kennedy for a couple of years instead of being dropped into the [censored] truck forward line of Kersten and MacCarthy

Talk on SEN of Max about to ink a long term contract which is good. Slowly tying up all the loose ends and I don't believe Jesse is going anywhere. The one player I haven't seen signed up is Alex Neal-Bullen who has slotted into the mid field and plays his role. Does anyone know his contract status? If he is returning to S.A. will he be part of the deal? We have already got his best mate Billy Stretch contracted for 2 years and am surprised Nibbler isn't.

Gawn a free agent or out of contract next year yeah? Hope all of our younglings listened to Lewis when he was preaching about taking pay cuts to stay together.

PULL THE LEVER!

get him dees. our list looks very balanced when you add him in

Crows are in more [censored] than a Werribee duck, arrogant wankers but I suppose it has worked for them. Hope they also lose a few other.

Crows have lost more than their fair share over recent years

Yeah Crows are really struggling.

Word is Lever is torn between playing for Adelaide and living in Melbourne. The club is all over him like a rash but much water must flow under bridge

Reports are the the Dorks are chasing him, replacement for Gibson just as they covered Lewis and S Mitchell with Mitchell and Jaegar.

How the hell do you kill this club in the modern era where they just keep cherry picking top talent based on their recent, past success to fill holes?

The poos and wees have no draft picks to use in a trade, they'd have to trade players. Can't see it happening.

Also, they are required to use 2 x first round picks in any 4 year period. When did they last use one?

Maybe they've been priming Sicily in the intercept marking role this year to offer as a trade with other picks and a midfielder.

Salem appears to me to be completely overrated on here

I am waiting to see what all the fuss is about

Needs to do more and take a big step in consistency for mine

Fancy others in his position

Agreed. Far too inconsistent for all the acolades he gets on here.

Yes he is a good kick, but that is of no use if he is not on the ground

What accolades are these?

Many on here consider him elite, a word that is often over used

I doubt it's many, and most would simply rate his kicking as elite, which it is.

Good to see you still can't get over his suspension either.

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
