Why are Saints playing at Etihad ?

I was a little worried about round one.... Now I'm really worried.

I'm just hoping that this is mostly Port being completely horrible

It's a bit of both, one knock on St Kilda is their skills aren't that great but otherwise they look good.

Saints look good, no doubt about that, but let's not forget to mention that the Power look like absolute rubbish at the minute.

Plus the Saints, as someone else mentioned, get to play their first game at Etihad where there game style always looks good.  Wouldn't be reading too much into it at the minute.

For all their dominance we had scored more against better opposition at this point in our game...

Reading these posts I thought they`d be up by 6 plus goals....8 points in it as I type! Maybe not that formidable after all?

They burst out of the blocks but after qtr time they were not anywhere near as impressive and really should have lost if port wasn't so bad in front of goal

Yes the intensity of this match is about half of the Melbourne V Bulldogs last week. The bestest thing about it is watching Eddie Betts being Eddie Betts. Makes you smile just seeing what he can do.

I still would like to know how the Aints get an Etihad gig?Wheres the "community" in that ??

Bad couple of days for the City of Adelaide with both of their teams going down.

Funny thing is that the media are talking finals and perhaps better for the Saints and doom and gloom for Port Adelaide but there was only one point in a practice game played at St Kilda's home ground and Port had more scoring shots.

The general consensus amongst the media is that the saints stopped trying after quarter time. Idk whether to believe it or not. The only evidence they provide, bar the sub par performance, was that the saints rested Riewoldt and Steven after half time. Saints will be the new beloved of the media after everyone gets sick and tired of the Bulldogs winning, methinks.

From what I've seen thus far, the Saints do have a stronger backline and forward line than us. We have a stronger midfield. Hopefully that will suffice, come round 1. This will be such a good game. Can't wait.

Saints only kicked 9 points more and had a swag more against than us in 2016. Their ℅ lower. They simply managed a few wins where we managed to lose.

Our list is better.

We'll own them soon like those bltches at filthland.

Our better midfield will cause more i50's and we have superior conversion

Freo are still complete poo.  Are they missing many from their side tonight who are considered best 22?

My wife said both teams are playing near full strength squads! Ross may struggle again this year.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
