I've been going through the games, which bring back memories. Also they show how I've forgotten players, as well as appreciate players that I didn't rate as highly way back then. Beveridge, Dyson, Clark for example.

Brave soul to compile all of the 2007-2014 games. There's the odd cracker here and there, but ouch.

Despite that, its a cracking collection. A lot of recent games (2014 onwards) can be found on YouTube, so its great to see a compilation of games from the 2000's with the likes of Neitz, Yze, Bruce, White, Green and Davey at their peak.

Really love this one:

R 20 1991 v North Melbourne

Jackovich at his best.  11 goals, including 10 to 3/4 time, bringing his total to 50 for the season, but having kicked 60 in the reserves in the same season......Stynes dominating. Luke Beveridge on the wing with Tingay....what could have been!

There's a lot of 'what could have been' when watching those early 90s games.  While they're fantastic to watch, there's an element of sadness that it never all came together at the same time.

Yes, I agree - to have the thread or links permanently at the top of the board would be a fantastic on-going reference point. A brilliant resource. How good was Jackovic.......

Nice, George!

Particularly liked the Demon father/son resonance going forward. T Viney, Stretch, Gus's old man doing kick out duties for the Roos, and Joel Smith's dad watching from the stands with the Roos.

You're absolutely right about Dyson and Clark. Beveridge was a very average player. Like Clarkson. Interesting how average battlers can become great coaches: Hafey was another.

Last night I watched 1990 Round 22 and 1990 Elimination vs the Hawks.  Rhode and Campbell doing jobs on Brereton and Dunstall two weeks in a row. Bennett a dominant target up forward.  Fast, furious, hard at the ball football and we matched and beat the hawks at their own game.  It almost brought a tear to ones eye to see a Demon side take it up to one of the greatest teams of all time.

We were close to the best side that year. But 8 Quarters of footy against that Whorethorn side took everything out of the tank..

Interesting observation this - perhaps these guys truly believe and espouse the virtues that a champion team can beat a team of champions given their background.

might be why Buckley is struggling to get the best out of his team (long may it continue)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
