Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So in a bid to beat a confession from the source - clues to the Riddler’s identity . . .

It could reasonably be assumed that the Riddler is not Jim Carrey. It might also be safe to assume that he’s an MFC fan and graces this site in another guise. A quick squiz of bomberblitz (shudder) confirms that there is no such Riddler riling up the Essendon fandom – although a question of complexity might be pointless

over there. Is it Hird? Is it Hird? Is it Hird?

The Riddler first surfaced in 2014. With a confident opening, I would suggest an active member who predates this time.

He mentioned that the mystery player was from interstate. This may well have been a trap, but it may just rule out Chook in Perth and I think Crazy Jaeger O'Smearer.

The Riddler previously said he had a link to an MFC board-member of 'two first names'. This may be completely fabricated of course - but be it Steven Morris or David Robb - let's surmise that the Riddler is acquainted and then of at least semi-mature years. This rules out 25% of Demonland.

These following folk have checked out the Riddler's profile page in the past ten hours: Monoccular, Member's Wing, Redbeard, 45HG & CarntheDees. I also saw Nasher stalking the other day. This may be a decent alibi - or, alternatively, may suggest the sort of psychopath who gets their kicks from sticking around the scene of their crime.

Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if the Riddler has posted in this very thread in an attempt to throw off the scent . . .

Nowhere does he say that it will be this trade period.

Even worse, so this means he is going to string us along for another 12 months?

Perhaps because you have not worked it out.

Yes , but neither has anyone else with Trade period being finished and no comment from the initiator.

Have been thinking about it more and I think the Riddles really needs to tell us, even if it was a hoax.

I think it is Nat Fyfe.

Butter, a few links, a bloke called Fyfe invented deep fried butter and muso has a song about butter and eggs. Nat butter is also a rather disgusting term for secretions on the end of a dog's old fella.

Wings, he has the wings photo copying Jordan.

Ocean, he is a docker so is tied to the Ocean. A bloke with the surname of Fyfe is also one of the most famous wooden boat designers of the early and mid 20th century. One of his boats is for sale in Vic at the minute for over 500,000 euro. There aren't many boats in Vic worth that much full stop.

He is also from interstate but that all depends on which state you start from.

Jesus, that is grim.

Your evidence adds up quite nicely, but the boat designer's name was actually spelt 'Fife'. Close enough though!

Of course it could be one of those he mentioned - interstate to most of us is anywhere out of Victoria, but if the poster was from Perth then Victoria would be interstate

Unless he has somehow defied the rules and obtained a second identity.

ManDee - I'm not sure that just denying you're the Riddler is sufficient evidence in this climate of suspicion and uncertainty. By necessity, the onus of disproof is on you. Me? I went to a public school so there's absolutely no way I'm acquainted with anyone even mildly related to the MFC. Though I was chatting to a NMFC board member by chance last week . . .

we need to get the afl integrity unit onto this

oh, wait

That would only work if the Riddler has integrity as the integrity unit can sniff out if someone has integrity quick smart and make sure who ever has any has nothing to do with their organisation.

I may have some explaining to do, I did go to a private school, I am a member of the MCC and did speak to $cully regarding continuing his tenure at the club, fortunately it fell upon deaf ears. But I can absolutely guarantee I do not have two identities on Demonland, but do I have three, or four?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
