Finals footy, everyone. [censored] that was good!

Football club defeats franchise.

Nice story from Clay Smith. He's made his mate proud, wherever they are now. Just one job left to do.

Just shows that had we played better in those last two rounds... who knows..... but of course we were young and tired

This year was up for grabs....

Heartbroken for Bob right now. That must hurt in the most indescribable way, despite the joy of the occasion.

Congratulations Bulldogs. Perfect example of a team that has rightfully earned their right to play in the Grand Final.

Inspiring to watch.

Fantastic result! 7th spot to a GF.

You've got to be happy for their supporters.

I'm absolutely stoked for the doggies fans and can't wait for our turn. Hopefully today plus tomorrow lights some fires in our boys' bellies

Gee whiz I feel for Bob Murphy.

In the AFL system for so long and in the year he's recovering from a knee injury, whilst Captain, the Dogs make the GF.

Must be mixed feelings like I couldn't understand.

Gotta love the Doggies.

Personally I think we've got a long way to go to matching them. Sure they didn't win every week in 2016 but one thing they did give every week was 100% effort. No way this mob would have dropped games against Essendon, Carlton the way we did. They are a credit to themselves. We have a lot to learn from them.

The Dogs are just epitomised by one united attitude: they never, ever give up.

Our team needs to learn a thing or two from the attitude of their players, instead of picking and choosing when to turn up. No other team's supporters would feel as proud as Dogs supporters right now.

Not only the result we all wanted, but a cracking game of football as well. That was some seriously good stuff.

I've got Dogs-supporting mates who are crying with happiness.

I can't wait until that is us.

Very happy about this result, watch the rough 23 bye be given the flick for next year!

Cpuld this be the year of the unlikely premierships, first Leicester now the Dogs?

Get stuffed GWS, have some heartache before you get results.

Don't think those GWS boys were thinking "oh well, we're just a franchise".

Brisbane, Adelaide and West Coast were all clubs created out of thin air in the same way GWS and GCS were, but I don't see anyone wailing about the success they've had.  The vitriol towards GWS is based on nothing but envy and I reckon it's childish.

First team to make the GF from outside the top 4.

Also the first Victorian team to win two interstate finals in the same year.

Also the first year neither team who won the QF and had the week off made the GF. Whether that's a coincidence with the Round 23 bye) or not will be debated, I'm sure.

Yes but it's fun

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
