On memory it took his dad to settle down early on, if he's got his dad's smarts he'll make it.

This club has had so many duds on its list I will be spewing if we don't at least give Kobe a shot.   He cant be worse than 7 or 8 players we currently have.  And we need another small forward

But that is the point, he could be worse.

Have you seen him play?

Why are you saying he is a LOCK for us.

If he is good, fair enough, but you don't draft players who aren't AFL standard, just because their fathers were good players. If that was the case, we would have 3 of Lyon's sons on the list for starters.

This.

I would only be interested if our recruiting team see him as a potential AFL player. If he is not up to the standard then let's not waste our time.

I don't want him just on name alone.

Yeah you are both right.. just a little bit excited about the idea of a Wiz Junior running around for us.

I can understand that and hope he is AFL standard and he plays with us.

I'm surprised that the AFL haven't issued a list of eligible father/son nominees and their selected clubs.

Does it mean there are none in the entire draft?

[Luke Edwards - Adelaide was apparently told by them that he would not be selected as a father/son]

Kobe Farmer’s 2020 WAFL Colts stats - nothing spectacular which might explain the silence from both Melbourne and Fremantle as well as his presence here.

My guess is that he might be offered a place within the system - perhaps at Casey - with a view to earning a place on the rookie list somewhere down the track.

The statistics show he kicked 10 goals and 6 behinds in 8 matches and had more tackles than most senior players get in a whole season but they don't show how many tackles created opportunities for others. It also does not show whether the team won or lost the games?

Some times we judge players on the obvious statistics but don't show how many times a player chases an opponent and causes a turnover thru pressure?

Those stats are to be expected when developed by Fremantle ;)

nothing special? if a player is contributing that much to the scoreboard from that many disposals and with that much defensive pressure they can easily be nurtured and maximised in an afl environment!!!

hit the scoreboard in every game he played and in the one he didn't kick a goal he laid more tackles than in any other game he played, which is a good sign that he was at least still 'involved'

man i hope if he has nominated for the draft he comes to us

would like to think his dad is in his ear to move to the big smoke

Yeah, now you mention it where is some video footage of the kid playing?

Google Kobe Farmer, and there is a link to a Facebook page, that has him kicking a few goals, as a 16 year old

am i right in saying if we nominate him and get no bids in the national draft he gets added to the list as a category B rookie? same as jiath at hawthorn and khamis at the doggies in recent years?

because if thats the case we wouldn't have a rookie spot for a train on SSP player? as we'd have 6 listed rookies so if farmer is any chance at joining then we're ruling out a DFA/train on player and taking a full quota in the national draft or we're picking him at 50 and keeping a train on spot free? or am i completely wrong

Has anyone actually said he is highly rated ?

I thought he was not eligible until 2021?

Also, he’s tied to Freo for both father/son and part of their NGA. He can still nominate us, but unlikely.

Not sure he’s too highly rated regardless...

Go and read the question I replied too.

People are surprised he isn't being talked up. My answer is pretty much that would most likely mean that he is simply not rated potential to draft standard.

It seems he's rookie at best.

As he is a father son my understanding is that he can only be a rookie listed if no one places a bid. Looking like rookie at best at this point. which is not bad - see what he can do in the system.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
