VFL GRAND FINAL - CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS

Would expect the Dogs to withdraw a couple at least from today's game as insurance. Six day break and an injured Roughead.

Would think Minson or Campbell will come out. Maybe Jong or another mid as well.

At least one of the rucks i would have thought, it really depends how much they think playing today would set them back next weekend, obviously they'd love to win today and next week as well

Bloody hope so. I reckon the win last night would have given the young pups today an extra ticker.

Will be a very close game today.

Man I can't tell you how excited I am for this game. My brother in 10 years of football has never played in a Grand Final, and nothing on this level. He is absolutely beaming with anticipation (which is rare for him, he's usually very humble and docile off the field) Whatever the result it's gonna be a huge day!

Who is your brother?

All those weeks of traipsing down to Casey.

All that time spent walking round the outer.

All those match day reports from KC and the D'landers.

All those egg and bacon rolls.

It all comes down to this......

Hope he has a flag at 5 .00 tonight and end up on our rookie list.

Oh nice. A lot of people on here want the Dees to draft him, myself included.  Go Scorps.

BREAKING NEWS: Salem will NOT be playing in today's game.

Hope he's ok. He will be missed, but I'm also kind of glad that he's not being put at further risk of aggravating last week's injury.

The Dogs went in against Collingwood massive underdogs with the bookies, much like their senior side over the last 3 weeks.

Unfortunately I expect the Dogs will run over the top of Scorps, the Dogs were just clinical last week against Collingwood.

Ugh! Got friends coming over to show off their new baby at 2.00 ?

Delayed recording it is. To check scores or not? Hmm

For a VFL game, there are quite a lot of Doggies supporters on the train coming in from eastern subs.

Hope they go home with tails between legs.

Can't they text you a photo like normal people. And then you have to say 'what a beautiful baby' even if it looks like it stepped out of Deliverance.

ABC commentators have already nailed their masts to the wall - backing Bulldogs big time, complete with Gia in the box.

I would love to nail their masts to the wall - without anaesthetic

today we go from cheering and admiring the bulldogs to booing and hating them

such is footy life  (tm dc)

Well I got that wrong. We lose Salem and they go in as selected. They are stronger than the team that beat the Pies last week by 20 goals. This will be tough.

More hipster sheep like behaviour then? Bulldogs should have 60000 members if this many people like them.

Mike Brady looking a bit older than I last saw him just walked past. He's going to sing "One Day in September". I guess he can't do that on AFL Grand Final Day.

Not sure why the Casey boys are in white shorts seeing that the Scorpions finished on top.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
