I think Hawthorn may have well and truly put the final nail in the dynasty coffin.

I can't see players playing for unders just to keep the band together anymore...

GWS will be raided harder and will lose some of their A grade talent, unfortunately we will have the same problem.

I think it might be one flag and then show me the money from now on.

It's funny as at times this year I thought Hodgey looked the lesser of the big 3 (Lewis and Mitchell). He spent a lot more time across as the sweeper off the backline. Yet he stays and the other 2 gone.

Trade period is still young.... ;)

I'm calling BS on that. Shoulders have never been a reason to avoid a player, look at Judd.

It's not smart knowing we might be looking and it's not hard to put forward a scenario that looks possible and then at the end of trade period say "it fell over because Dunn wouldn't go or Brisbane couldn't get a pick in the 30's or simply we changed our mind - but the information was right at the time".

It's rubbish IMO and the identification of sources shows he wanted to in some way validate it.  It's 95% likely he's having a good laugh at DL now.

Posters like you are the reason many don't pass on information. All good, demon land can go on without me.

Had enough of the  inbox messages and posts like yours. Enjoy when you get no information at all!

GD, it is so easy to be a perpetual cynic. Best to ignore them, they soak up all the positive and then claim credit. effem

Thanks for your input.

Geez mate, my uncle was CEO of the club and the amount of 'we are chasing so and so', we are having a meeting with whatsizname' or 'we are confident of this happening' that never happened would look like a phone book. On the other hand the amount of last minute, left field things that did happen would almost fill one too. This time of the year is musical chairs. Nothing is done until the ink is dry.

I was under the impression yesterday that Rockliff was set to be finalised or completed today or tomorrow... now it sounds very unlikely that he'll come to us. How did this occur?? Has there been any major movements i've missed or was it generally an unreliable rumour?

If Hibberd goes through for our future second round pick and Lewis for a late pick (44)... how does Rockliff not happen for 23 and Dunn? Isn't it fair for both parties? Obviously i don't know the situation each clubs are in, just a thought..

GD - While the messages you've received are over the top, and people like Vogon Poetry just like the sound of their own keyboard, you need to understand that when you put info out there that you'll get all sorts of reactions.  If that info turns out to be wrong, or it changes, then you also need to understand that some posters will give it to you.  Just look at someone like GNF - he cops verbal diarrhea from select posters but he still comes back with info from time to time.

If you don't like the reactions then, by all means, keep the info to yourself.  But if you do put it out there then you need to be ready for everything that goes with it.  Cheers.

Don't necessarily buy into this whole 'attitude problem'.

If had played for the Lions for that long, I'd have an attitude problem too. They're a basket case. It's no suprise that poor performing clubs seem to be synonomous with poor culture and players with 'attitude'. Look at us circa 2007-2014. The Blues of that period too.

I'd be inclined to take a punt on him. Although a slightly different situation, Roos was able to get the best out of Mcglynn at Sydney and he was touted as having a poor cultural stigma. I see no reason why Rockliff wouldn't do the same for us.

Major issue that I see is his contract, but if Brisbane were that desperate to offload him and retain a minimum salary cap, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to pay a portion of the contract, maybe even around 40%.

Generation Dee is back peddling at an alarming rate... There goes your cred.

This has been bothering me for a long time.

If someone is blatantly making up rumours then then they have no credibility, but if they are simply passing on what they are hearing then it's not their fault if it doesn't eventuate.

EDIT: This is of course assuming that it is reasonable that who they are getting the information from is likely to have accurate information in the first place.

If you are willing to pass on information from your source, you become not reliable if your source is not reliable. Its pretty simple.

That's a bit harsh... GNF was considered questionable on his Hogan claims as they were essentially just repeating what had been in the press a couple of days previous to his comments.  Generation Dee in my opinion does NOT deserve criticism because he has actually come up with a previously unheard "rumour" that he was prepared to give substance to by alluding to his sources... a big difference.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
