Is it bizarre to anyone else that St Kilda are currently above us on the ladder on 11 wins (likely 12 wins after next week) with a percentage 15% worse than us?

Looking a bit closer at their fixture, they played the Bombers twice (15th last year but essentially 18th), Carlton twice (18th) and us at Etihad twice, practically 6 free wins.

Yep. I think it's just their talent at getting completely and utterly belted when they lose that has done that.  Must be a frustrating side to watch.

No issue with the mathematics but uncomfortable about posts discussing how tomorrow needs to be a big percentage booster. I've read these sentiments a few times this year and we didn't even walk away with 4 points.

I just subscribe to Roosy's mindset that if we come with the right attitude tomorrow, the percentage will take care of itself.

But I was wrong to tell everyone what they should and shouldn't discuss, seeing as I'm the first one to jump on Saty for dictating what opinions are allowed on here. More than anything, I'm just really anxious about how tomorrow will go, win or loss.

It's all good mate.  I agree entirely - or at least would, if we were the players.  The players absolutely must adhere to what you've said.  Just reckon we fans can say and do whatever and it makes no difference.

Yep, just compare their game against West Coast at Domain to ours. 132 - 29 was the final margin. Compare that to what we did against them (granted, it was a loss, but against all statistical odds).

Overall we haven't been belted in any games this year except the Sydney match, and we're much less reliant on our senior players compared to Montagna, Riewoldt, etc. Exciting times ahead.

If we were to replicate our last two wins over Carlton & Geelong over the next fortnight, eg defeat Carlton 81-58 & Geelong 113-89, it would leave us with a percentage of approx 106.86.

North would then likely try and reduce their match to a low scoring scrap, but even if GWS won 70-60, that would be enough to dip North's percentage below ours.

Key is to win tomorrow as comfortably as possible though to try and make it a non issue.

Yep agreed. I think we've definitely seen a seismic shift in player attitude with two key games this year: the loss to Essendon and the win against Hawthorn. I think both are defining matches for different reasons and were hopefully the catalyst for an MFC resurgence.

It'll still take a few years of consecutive finals before I'm cured of MFCSS, but thankfully the playing group seem to have moved on already.

Really feel for the kid. I have no idea what went wrong with Toumpas, but ultimately nobody has won out of the situation. I wish he'd been the player we hoped, but it is what it is. All the best for his future.

Meanwhile, Collingwood 68-12 in the second quarter against Gold Coast. Is this a sign of things to come for Collingwood, or are Gold Coast just that woeful?

Assuming results pan out this round as expected (Adelaide, Geel and WB all win), at the end of this round there will be 4 teams tied on top of the ladder and another 3 only 1 game behind. Unprecedented?

And Adelaide, Sydney and GWS have similar %'s, so pending results, the % could split 2nd/3rd. The Hawks look like they'll meet an in-form Collingwood, WCE have everything to play for Friday night to secure a home final and maybe even top-4. As Brian Taylor would say, Wowee!

St Kilda's brand doesn't work away from Etihad against half decent opposition. It's high pressure, high intensity, but it's the sort of brand that has very little to it and won't stand up in finals either. They don't have enough contested ball beasts in the middle.
