It was a joke precious, you need to stop being the arbiter of what people can post, the poster doesn't seem to have an issue, so I respectfully request you pull your head in  and go back to topic

Hopefully we have a red hot go Hawthorn are only another 22 blokes, with Trac Brayshaw and Oliver cracking in for the first time together should be fun to watch

it's NEVER fun watching hawthorn play

I don't agree dc.

I have enjoyed watching them for most of the last decade.

A great side that just keeps on winning.

If Hogans fit, Wagner out, Watts to back flank, Weed plays stay home forward VB played last week, allowing VB to play higher and get involved more...

And second ruck would be...?

I know most of us will be going along on Saturday hoping it is not a bloodbath, with a little bit of a hope for a miracle win, I actually enjoy watching Hawthorn play myself, they play on the edge and never give up, something we all want MFC to be.

And hopefully the guys will have a real crack and get an idea how far they have to lift to get even close to Hawthorn

I had a chat to a few of the guys who are 'stuck' at Casey, the morale is high, quote from one "we are having fun down there, want to have a real crack at winning the flag"

Any other news?

Any other news?

Bits and pieces

JKH thinks they have finally solved his hamstring issues

Terlich has shaved his head, it looks shocking but has grown beard, Garlett persisted in calling him Chunk during the drills

Hogan barely got out of a trot at training, but was walking freely, didn't seem too down when I spoke to him

Salem is back at his playing weight after losing 5kg

Lots of work on the field kicking at training

Any other questions will try and answer

They're like a big turd that won't flush.

The only solution is poking it with a wire coat hanger that's been slightly warped. Perhaps the players should arm themselves with coat hangers.

That troublesome turd can be flushed with a big bucket of boiling water too. A method I've found  successful on more than one occasion. Would work well with the Essendon football club.

did it seem like Hogan would be more likely or less likely to play this weekend?

Who knows, he didn't seem restricted kicking, he only jogged though, walking without any limp or discomfort,  we may put him through a more severe session tomorrow away from prying eyes

I have noticed that they seem a pretty happy bunch. I reckon it has a lot to do with Plapp who seems a quality coach and individual.  In the rooms after the Coburg game they even seem to have learned the club song, but they still hold up the words. I was just wondering if Viv was getting disillusioned. Has been in the best for 9 out of his 10 games but getting no love from the FD. Guess he will be looking elsewhere at the EOS. Pity because I think he is as good as any in his group but seem that because he is not a Roos draftee he does not get a look in despite the stated policy of selecting those whose performance warrants it will get a game.

Viv has to be one of the quietest blokes in the group, you never notice him at training, just goes about doing the drills in a professional way, he never looks down, think he just enjoys, and feels privileged at, being on an AFL list and gives it everything he's got at whatever level he is playing

Can't wait to see Oliver, Brayshaw, Petracca and Weideman playing in the one team, hopefully with Hogan. Not to mention Watts, Stretch, Hunt, etc. it may even be an exciting game watching the 2017 team debut.

Bugg in to tag Mitchell, thank Christ our coaches learned from the effective tactics of other teams.

Also, Truck, Brayshaw and Oliver together? ZOMG. Awe. Some.

I'm not sure that's correct. I thought Michie was one of Roos' recruits in his first year. Can anyone confirm?

Cool, thanks.

In: Bugg, Weideman, Oliver

Out: Chris Dawes, Josh Wagner, Matt Jones

Emg: Colin Garland, Cameron Pedersen, Matt Jones.

So Pedo would come in if Hogan doesn't get up.

All looks pretty good to me!

Pedo, M. Jones and Garland named as emergencies. If Hogan does not get up it looks as if Pedo will be there to babysit weed.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
