Anyone see woosha on the news tonight saying we shouldn't be talking to a player that is already contracted. I thought these banned players could walk if they wanted to.

Anyway the dogs got boyd when he was still contracted and freo practically got McCartney.

The AFL need to come out and clarify this point

I reckon hes signed and sealed at Melbourne.  Hopefully we get him as a delisted free agent.due to him beind doped up by his cheating club.

Either way who cares?. Beautiful destabilisation by PJ and the club and you can bet plenty of others will/have joined us.  Meanwhile you wouldn't know who we are really looking at would you? Boy we've come a long way.

I just love that Essendon is having a cry. Nothing else really interests me at the moment.

I love the hack CEO call. He took them to a flag and didn't oversee the whole club being slammed from pillar to post for injecting their players with who knows what. Not to mention the great work he has done at the dees.

I was wondering what HeppelltitisD is too, is that one of the side effects from the unknown drugs from mexico?

One of the funny things Ess fans got stuck into me about when we signed PJ was the signing of Knights. Seems like it was a good descision now.

It is clear. Non Victorian clubs can talk to anyone and sign them any time, vic clubs are in breach of the laws of the game

The Don's got Woosha when still employed at another  club. Pot kettle!!

For PJ to come out and say something about the matter then you would pretty much think so.

Beautiful isn't it? Work of art.

Knights did what he did with full board endorsment, he told them they wouldn't win much but that they were rebuilding. He was delivering that but Hird and others couldn't handle it and white anted him and then took the team Knights was putting together to the finals and then claimed the credit.

Knights was no where near as bad as they make out, he may actually have been quite good.

How about the demise of the Filth?!

The carnage from Eddie's Karma bus may  well put the battle of Stalingrad to shame.

The entertainment factor is becoming engrossing. FIGJAM on the brink of being sacked, this years high draft pick off to GWS, and no points to snare the sons of club greats. I'd love to see Daicos in the orange and charcoal after the pies stole Treloar. I'm loving watching them unravel.

It would be fairly sweet if Hibberd walked for nothing......

However, I'm predicting that he is 100% gone but will come for a 2nd round pick. The Dons will have to suck it up otherwise he will just walk.

The best thing about the situation is Essendon can't play hard ball. They'll keep their poker face on with the expectation we'll blink, but we won't pay overs, we'll offer what we consider fair, and if they act like the petulant children they are we'll tell him to walk for nothing as a DFA.

It's so bloody beautiful seeing the carcass of that drug-riddled hole continue to wither in misery.

Knights was ahead of his time. Whilst his gameplan needed some refining look at how teams like the Bulldogs are playing now.

Crazy as you may think, I would not take anyone from EFC irrespective of what they bring to the team. I like winning games but I like the moral high ground. We are looking at luring drug cheats to our club. For me, it has bad karma written all over it. I would also be concerned with giving away some really good players or those with great development potential. I know trading is part of the marketplace but we are developing a champion team and with that developing stability, mateship and a desire to achieve success together. I mean seriously who would you be happy to trade and what message does that send to our young team.

Yep, this is absolutely crazy.

Three words for Worsfold.

"Harden Up Coach"

Clubs talk to opposing players managers all the time.

The clamour for Knights to be sacked by the Dins fans at the time was loud, the joy at golden boy coming home to deliver them to glory was even louder... Now look at them. Knights was one of many sacrifices along the way.

I said I was crazy Ron, I hardly need you to agree or confirm it.

Apparently Essendon may ask the AFL to investigate Melbourne over Hibberd. The Age has reported that clubs can talk to players directly whenever they want, they just can't sign any contracts. Maybe this has gone further than we thought?

Yeah, but no one at our club is going to be stupid enough to offer him a contract to sign until the time is legal. No point. As long as he agrees to come across. This is the Druggies simply attempting to draw a line in the sand. I hope it backfires and a few more of their blokes go as a result.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
