Well done GNF always happy with your info. Too many naysayers on here

I mean he's also gotten some things very right but it doesn't suit your point to mention that.

I've always thought he'd stay, because it just makes sense.  However, your assertion that it 'could' take 6 months is the comment that doesn't make sense.  There's no reason that I can fathom why it would take that long.

Agreed. Just that there's still some water to flow under the bridge, but that it's more than likely he'll stay. So if he's told the club he's re-signing it's unlikely he'll request a trade. We're not actually that much further along than we were before GNF's post.

I would suspect that the recent re-signing especially from Watts would have helped. There does seem to be an attitude of belief at the club these days, and Goodwin is very popular. Well done Jackson and Roos - whether he signs or not.

You watch. Have a feeling this is going to be a big off season for once. We'll have all our best players signed up and we'll land that big fish we've been talking about for two years.

He also said that Dion Prestia is a certainty this year. Although that rumour hasn't been proven false as of yet, it's getting there.

That'll happen. As will Hogan's re-signing, but Hogan also said he was ready to sign last year and then that he was waiting for the CBA. So this really hasn't come much further, just an educated guess.

Didn't Hogan say in his most recent interview he'd like to get things sorted sooner rather than later. Most on here took the negative that it meant nothing. Well just maybe he was alluding to something poitive

Have no opinion of GNF or anyone.  Simply saying someone is playing the probabilities and applying some logic ie:

  • All involved have consistently said JH will stay and JH wants to wait for CBA.
  • CBA now known to Clubs so reasonable to conclude JH willing to re- sign.
  • JH wants to avoid last years Jan/Feb fiasco around his contract
  • Therefore, reasonable to conclude JH will re-sign within 6 months.

It 'makes sense', right?

Most of us on here have believed the club and that Jesse will resign when the CBA is known.  Tbh I think Jesse will sign before trade period starts (2 months).  Do I have a source?

No.  Logically, it just 'makes sense' as the club needs to know what it can offer incoming trade players and current OOC players, to manage its salary cap.

Anyone can make educated guesses!

Agree. If Hogan has agreed to re-commit, his signature asap is important for 2 reasons:

1. It's a massive endorsement of the club and a huge selling point if we're trying to lure players to the club

2. The club knows how much cap space it will have to re-sign players like T. Mac or lure a big fish like Hurley.

Putting off signing for 6 months actually hurts the club.

Agree, if it happens it should happen during finals or pre draft period. It will be difficult and a hinderance  to the club in planning the pre-season as well as managing trades and offers with ongoing uncertainty about his future.

as GNF said, you're entitled to your belief, he has made some calls a long way out that have proven 100% correct and for me that gives him credibility.

but as i said, each person is entitled to read or not, i don't see anything productive coming from you getting on here writing how his sources are rubbish, if you don't rate them, simply don't read it.

i am 100% certain there will still be many posters who appreciate what he says regardless of what you post.

Would you believe they tested the sewerage in Perth and found that Perthians consume about 3.5 times more meth than us normals on the East coast.

This is something I would believe, not the least bit surprised.

Each to their own Abe but what calls has he exactly made 'from a long way out' that was true?? And dont say the Paul Roos saga.. Media experts were already drumming up for Roos as soon as the Essendon debacle it went from then on throughout the year. GNF went along with it and claimed it from there.

Actually curious to see a list of things he has gotten right over the years as you mentioned.

Kenny Buzzins must be partly to blame.

Jesus, please can we not? Happens every single time he posts something.

I'm an atheist too, and I am unsure how that precludes me from being confident Hogan will sign. There's nothing wrong with a bit of crystal ball gazing mo, it's fun. Give it a go sometime.

So? that's not my fault.

47 years of support has scarred me.

No point really, you'll argue each point i make and it's not really worth the effort

i rate his posts, you don't, pretty simple really.

It sorta is your fault - you go on the attack every time. I'm in your camp and I reckon LH has nailed it; GNF just plays the odds, but I think we should just drop it. If people want to back him and pin their hopes on him, let them. It's all just in good fun I reckon.

Yep, I reckon GNF is having a good laugh...

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
