The entire club is pre/post camp fiasco effected YB.  What's been leaked so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

I reckon he'll get somewhere back to pre-camp form with a fresh start wherever he ends up.

Seems these camp thingies can do a bit of damage....(cough*cough*)

Shhhhh don't spoil it jnr!

I would have good look at him because TMac struggles against the better defenders.  If Jenkins takes the best defender it will make TMac a better player.

Only problem with that OD is that Jenkins won't get the #1 defender.

So our leading goal kicker kicked 22 goals this year and we prioritise other positions to trade in.

Our number 1 forward is now constantly getting injured and our number 2 is still establishing himself at suburban footy grounds when not injured.

That’s why Mahoney and Co get paid the big bucks and us posters have no idea, right?

I cant understand why there would be a reluctance to pop JJ on the list for 2 years. Honestly, the moment we got rid of Cam Ped, we found that we lacked that experienced big bodied footballer. I think Fritsch can kick 30 goals which will be a bonus and a fit Melk could offer 25+ but i still think we need a good back up player.

It seems no one wants him. He'll probably be picked up by someone for peanuts at the death.

If rumours are true about him leaking info about his own club you could understand why clubs are staying away. I mean if he is getting out a club and team mates he has played with for years he isnt going to have much loyalty to a xlub he has been at 5 minutes.

Whenever a player is on the skids at a club you start "hearing" things Bin.  Conversely when they are sought after / needed you tend to "hear" the opposite.

I have "heard" things as well about "a player" at our club allegedly saying things on the field that under the scrutiny some are saying should apply here in terms of determining whether to get/keep or not,  would probably see him terminated or rejected in a trade.

I have no idea whether what this player allegedly said on field is true or otherwise but said player will still be running around in 2020.  Probably because he is very much a required player & fan fav (in many cases).  If he wasn't he may well have been traded (assuming what was allegedly said was overheard by MFC officials).

If we were to decide our list based on this sort of behavioral criteria we might end up with a very short list indeed Bin.

iirc when he was dropped rather than take it on the chin, he went public with his dissatisfaction and 'heated' discussion with the coach.  Hard to trust someone after that.

Yeah there is an element of that for sure, but the club as much to blame as anyone on this, they created an environment that caused players alot of unhappiness in their workplace, some voiced it publicly some in house.

iirc JJ's public complaints about the coach were not about the camp or culture.  They were more self-serving; complaining about being dropped.  Not good for team work or trust building and mateship.

Ok, i get it, you dont want him.

If we were to take him on a two year contract what would it take in terms of a trade with the Crows?

I imagine it would not be alot. but id be very surprised now if he ended up with us. Which off the back of a year where we struggled to kick goals we will have failed to address another back up fwd and a small crumbing fwd.. seems pretty strange to me.

Jenkins and a second round pick for us taking Jenkins.

Not that I am wanting him on the list... Pick 79 will get it done considering he is not wanted at all.

No way we need this guy

I’d take him, but apparently the terms “role player” ,  “upgrade on what we currently have” or “depth” can only be used on certain players.

Aside from Bruce (looking highly unlikely we are interested but hope i'm wrong), who else would you put up as a KF or tallish mobile forward option that can average about 2 goals per match or more LH on such low coin.

I don't have the answer Rusty.

However, Melksham, Tom Mc, Petracca, Fritsch and occasionally Wiedeman have shown they are very good forwards.  But they have played no more than a handful of games together.

And our forward line is like Brown's cows.  I harp on the lack of a forward coach a lot.  I truly believe part of our fwd problem is that we do not have a coach who has ever played as a fwd nor coached fwds.  Get us a forward coach who can develop those players into a strong unit and we will do just fine.

Having said that I'm keen to see if the musings in the Key Forward Recruit thread eventuate.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
