We all know and love his competitiveness. The stigma with JV is his poor kicking. It's unfair in that he's not the terrible kick he's often made out to be, but it does need to improve for him to take that next step.

Thats what I'll be hoping to see this season is him finding a bit more polish and maybe even adding to the goal tally a little more frequently.

I particularly remember Jack's debut game against Brisbane in Round 1 2013. On a day when everyone's hopes and dreams lay shattered by quarter time, Jack was the only one who looked like he could help pick up the pieces and glue us back together again. It's a big burden to bear, but he's tough enough.

Ugh! I still shudder thinking about that game. Felt sick to the stomach watching Port kick goal after goal, with no resistance, except for JV.

Short priced favorite to be our next captain i would have thought, huge chance at the Bluey this year as well, ready to explode as a player.

In my defence, we played Brisbane in round 1 of 2012, not 2013.

Racked up 28 touches up til 3/4 time.

Just a machine that wins so much contested ball for the team and generally uses it well.

I'd go as far to say that Jack will be the most pivotal player in our flag tilt.
