In all honesty does anyone actually care about the NAB challenge ladder..?

Not potting you WJ but just think its completely pointless that somehow there is still a ladder on practice games.

I believe you'll find that WJ is being sarcastic.

A number of years ago I did a bit of analysis on the "pre-season" ladder in comparison to the ladder, and while obviously it wasn't perfect, from memory it did give a reasonable indication of the results after about a third of the season.  I posted it here on Demonland but it was probably a number of servers ago.

i thin that might be wj;s point...

i just want to see us play as well as we did in the second half last week for the entire match. first to the ball, super intense defensive pressure, dominant at stoppages.

after that my requests get silly:

- frost to kick 5 in a dominant role up forward

- vince and salem rebounding every time the ball comes out of defence hitting targets

- kennedy and watts to continue performances from last week

- oscar mcdonald to keep tom boyd to 3 possessions

Big ask from Oscar but I like the way you think!

I see on Twitter that Mumford has injured his toe and will take no further part in the game.  Handy out if he doesn't play round 1.

I wonder if it was mumford that smashed Frosts toe?

Umpires in the Tigers pockets big time.

Toumpas is still a rabbit in headlights and a poor user of the ball.

Port aren't winning the ball in the middle at all.

Are you watching DemonA ? How is Dixon going if at all?

Lots of drama unfolding tonight. Richmond apparently asked the AFL to cut the game short due to mass injuries and not enough rotations remaining with so few players available; AFL refused and Hardwick was furious.

Problem is they're not the only team on the ground, Port have a season that they need to get up and running.

...plus if the AFL want to take gambling money then the game has to be played out.

It's not all about Richmond "Dimmer"....poor match day coach. They will regret giving him another contract this year.

Just made  his job more shaky!!!

I was so intrigued by the quality television on The Footy Show tonight (and I have great respect for Billy Brownless tonight and feel even sadder for Garry Lyon), I almost forgot there was a game on but thankfully, it made no difference to our ladder. Lots of injuries to the Tigers and Dimmer was taking players off in the last quarter to say farewell to Dusty's dad.

Apparently, Hardwick pulled players off the ground with nearly 10 minutes to play and played it out with only 15 players!  Few rotations left at this point.  Not good duty of care and player welfare management for the 15 left on the field.

While it may be well intentioned, he threw a match!  A match on which there was betting.  Bringing the game into disrepute fine may be coming his way?

Well, if not for throwing a match then for disobeying the AFL directive to play on, for being a poor sport and doing a hissy fit because he didn't get his way.

He may have just watched his contract renewal go down the gurgler!

The coaches think the game revolves around them and their desires.

Once upon a time they hated 4 interchange, as an injury meant they had 3 to the oppo's 4. Not fair! And god forbid if they got 2 injuries.

They wanted a sub! To mitigate that situation.

Now they've decided they hate that rule and need 4 interchange again.

They don't like ruckmen having to cope with a bounce that doesn't go perfectly vertical and exactly 8.33m in the air.

Lots of things they don't like. Mostly the AFL rolls over for them.

Big tick to the AFL for standing up to a coach for once.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
