Well done Col.

I hope he works hard on his rebounding capability as IMO its this that stops him being the player we need.

3 years?

Would want to pull his head out.

Was it another case of no interest from other clubs?

With a full he's not in my best 22, others will disagree and that's fine.

Would love to know how much we're paying him.

If the club was considering trading him, I doubt somehow they would then be signing him up for another 3 years due to a lack of interest from other clubs. Surely if that were the case, they would have offered one, or two at most.

Read the article on the MFC website. Col told his Manager to not even bother looking elsewhere, 'cos he was going nowhere, and is determined to help the MFC continue its climb up the ladder. Good on him!

18 clubs has stretched the talent pool. Many were surprised when Fitzy was delisted. If Dunn/Tmac/Frost play down back is Col the replacement depth. I didn't have Grimes in my starting 22 for round 1 this year while many others did. I'm guessing another player on a reduced rate.

I will read the articles when I finish work, regardless of what he told his manager it would seem most players from any club have daily updates about their future, speculative or not.

Ugly stuff? So it would seem my attitude is aligned with the one he has displayed at times throughout the year.

When you read about him it's never about his elite disposal/competive attitude/footy smarts, the first thing you read is things like great clubman. That's all well and good but we need more than that.

Just signed a new 3 year deal.

“I was watching the game and people said ‘wouldn’t you love success?’ and I said ‘it wouldn’t mean anything to me unless it was with Melbourne’.

Legend!

I have to admit I had him pegged in the Frawley basket. I felt that he was the person Roos was always thinking of when he talked about mental scars, and I felt certain he'd want out.

Very glad to be proven wrong. His 2013 was extremely good. Hopefully he can get back to that form sometime in the next three years.

Three year contract re-signing for Col says a lot about him and the club. The interview is indeed music to the ears. I wish Col all the best for season 2016 onwards and hope he can improve down back and provide confident effective release to our mids.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
