Ess offer the guy only 2 years and less $$ and they want A grade trade in return.

If they truly valued him that highly surely they would better our offer!

They start with such a ridiculously high ambit demand for trades that they get far too much in return.

Given the reports on how we are handling Jeremy Howe's contract, I am confident TV and JT will not be conned!

As I've said, we'll be laughing at their faces with demands like that. Of course they're going to begin negotiations with outlandish requests.

They eventually accepted picks 17 and 37 for the Ryder trade, because he wanted out.

If Melksham wants out, they'll deal appropriately. I'm also not sure why anyone would think we'd pay overs for him anyway.

As for Greg Denham, is this the same Greg Denham that said Mitch Clarke to St Kilda was a done deal last year?

Cool.

Howe is a better player than Melksham and our first pick will probably be a better player than Melksham.

Lol thank god this whole thing must be a stupid joke. First pick and Howe lol GFY with either of those requests let alone the package deal. This has been the worst start to trade period ever.

This has been the worst start to trade period ever.

Which is it?

Greg Denham just reported on SEN that the Bombers have asked for Melbourne's first pick & Howe for Melksham.

Oh dear.

You can only hope that with such a ridiculous request, the Dees and Dons don't get a deal done and he comes to Melbourne for nothing in the PSD.

No problems you counter with McKenzie or our last pick in the draft, 78, or whatever it is.

I'll have whatever the Bombers are smoking.

They're using again. [censored] druggies

Why would anyone trade for a player at risk of disqualification (however short)?

Just doesn't make sense to do it.

Pathetic.

Why, for having an opinion that is a little controversial? Oh sorry, everything is awesome baa, everything is cool when your part of a team baaa. Better?

You're allowed your opinion mate, but I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the:

"This club is broken" (for speculated interest in a single player?? please)

"Goodwin is a bad move" (absolutely no evidence of this whatsoever)

"Don't arrive at the game until half time"

"We're never getting any better"

etc etc etc

I know you weren't responsible for those last couple of posts, but your post was bang in line with the rest of the doomsday tripe peddled on here on a daily basis.

They can have pick 41 for him

One things for sure, I'd rather keep Jeremy Howe and pay him overs than pay someone like Melksham overs.

Oh Essendon, the drugs have really gone to your head

I'll throw in Dean Terlich to sweeten the deal!

The funniest thing about all this, is one of my best mates is a die hard Essendon supporter. When the rumour of this broke, he texted me, and I quote:

"Melksham- will trade for a stale packet of salt & vinegar chips. Will bring his own footy".

Edited by Jaded

If we even contemplated giving anything but scraps for this joker, then we have seriously lost the plot.

You know the guy is crap when Essendon supporters are wanting him out.

PSD is the way to get this guy.

If someone else wants to match his contract and take him before us, well, easy come easy go.

Glad someone wants Howe. Pretty sure he (Howe) would go to that "joint" as well.

If we did that trade every draft pick from five to ten would be on suicide watch.

Greg Denim shouldn't say such silly things in public.

I'm thinking now that this bloke if fit could be a good get.

Don't forget Ess are in conflagration as are their supporters.

Jake Melksham. 4 years at 400 for Jake [censored] Melksham.

This club is broken. Goodwin is going to be a bad move, I can feel it in my stomach. He's involvement with drugs inc. has never really sat right with me.

Jeez, you got there pretty quick, sloonie...

A year out from being solely in charge and the club is broken as evidenced by his signing as coach.

And all because of Jakey Melksham...

it could be just the break Jack Watts needs to have Melksham come in and replace him as the number one whipping boy

Jake Melksham, already demonland's favourite Melbourne whipping boy!

Olisik is having a real crack at the title lately.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
