Charlie Curnow

Also, Elvis ain't dead and a Japanese submarine kidnapped Harold Holt.

Man you are way off, it was a Russian sub.

Sounds like minor, immature, schoolies incident. Silly, but I still like the sound of him.

Probably most bizzare thing i have ever read on here.

And that is well and truly saying something

No you supposedly don't, but I know that you'll be secretly reading them.

I hope Charlie is taken care of in all of this because whether or not we draft him or not, the media have not done the right thing by him and that's not acceptable in my view.

It's going to be hard for him to rock up and take center stage on Tuesday night with all of this surrounding him - I feel for the kid.

The kid is a DHead for doing what he did. Dont care what age he is, he is old enough to know that drink driving is illegal and can tear families apart and the consequences that come with it. I'm not saying he should be put to the slaughter but it makes me ill the fact you feel for the kid. As someone thats lost a innocent family member to the cowardly act of drink driving he needs a good clip to the ear.

He needs to learn his lesson and win back the respect from alot of the clubs. The bigger test is how will he respond to it.

Agree 100%

Hes a clown and I hope to hell we dont draft him. There is never any excuse for drink driving and putting the lives of others in danger.

Curnow is scum.

Sorry mate I'll explain it a bit more. As an example lets say the Bombers were going to draft Curnow and then as a result of today's happenings decide against it, then the player Melbourne wanted might be taken by the Bombers as a replacement for Curnow forcing us to take someone else therefore completely changing the draft order from then on....given the clubs rank players differently.

So there are motives for clubs to coerce or manipulate other clubs to take certain players because that can result in certain players falling to them.

And that is well and truly saying something

Just because someone sees something that you don't. No need to be nasty about it - just sit back, take a deep breath & open your mind and you might learn something.

That covers a lot of ground dd however I tend to agree

Agree 100%

Come off it - have you ever drunk and driven above the limit?....be honest now!

Or don't you have your license yet?

I know that i never have. But it's a bit easier for me, as i don't drink alcohol.

So he did the wrong thing and drink driving is an illegal offense and can be fatal and sympathize with you, but this kid hasn't killed anyone and he is being embarrassed and being made to pay for it in front of the entire country just because the media want a story and he is a potential AFL draftee.

I don't see any reason why he couldn't have been reprimanded without it becoming so public, and that is my exact point......why did this become so public so quickly?

Either way, he's just demonstrated that he's not be the sharpest tool in the shed...?

Charlie or Roosy Booze?

RB i'll be reading any reports you post.

But please spare me with any sympathy for Curnow. One he'not a kid. Two he put other peoples lives at risk for drink driving and failing to stop at a stop sign. He's got no one but himself to blame.

He deserves all he cops.

Have you ever not stopped at a Stop Sign? Have you ever drunk and driven above the limit?

I'm not condoning what he did of course.

All I can say is God help us if we do draft Curnow because you guys are going to give a pasting worse than he is getting for his drink driving offense.

don't think god will be much use

pretty sure that if we did take him, he would be treated as a demon and given every chance to prove he's worth it

but a second infraction and he'd no doubt cop some heavy flak

so, no, disagree

Looking back on some of the daft things I did as a kid I've got no right to call Charlie a DH. I'm just groaning at the timing of it.

seems pretty harsh to be dumping a talented kid because of a stupid incident. yes he stuffed up, what we need to figure out is whether he is the best player for us at our 3rd or 7th pick if he is available. With schoolies coming along a lot more of these kids will be doing stupid things before they play with the seniors.

All in all I suspect Carlton would gladly take him at 12 as they would consider themselves paying well under for him. And he can ride share with his brother to training, etc...

Man you are way off, it was a Russian sub.

Nup, if it was the Russians something would've leaked by now (no pun intended). My bet's North Korea.

So you reckon the supporters will flip & embrace him? Perhaps that is a trait of Demon supporters that flies in the face of all the the whingeing that goes on, or perhaps that just gives them something to whinge about for 8 seasons. Giving players with lots of talent 8 seasons to prove themselves - I can see that happening.

I just can't see the club drafting him now and perhaps we weren't anyway.... It just doesn't look like part of our playbook.

And my opinion is he is a dkhead Regardless. obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed either refusing to take a breatho is just plain stupid. He needs to learn from this and win back the respect in whatever club drafta him.

Id still take him at pick 7 if he is still available though. But he is an absolute idiot for what he did plain and simple.

Would prefer we take Parish at 3 and McKay at 7. Parish is just the hard working country kid we need and McKay is similar in his attitude. Curnow may have got ahead of himself because of his brother, but there is no guarantee he is going to be any better than McKay. I think it all comes down to how we develop them, so take the kid with the better character.

Scum? Wowee...

Roosy:

Enough already.

You've made your point.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
