Charlie Curnow

If he hadn't of had any alcohol then he wouldn't have spent the night in the cells. That's the result of being drunk in a public place, the two years loss of licence will be the result of failing to blow.

Hope he gets an Uber App for the next 2 years to get to training and matches!

doubt he'll get a crim record, maybe not recorded? 2 yrs driving OK... his brother could drive him the prizefixer park to train then.

you should stop, you're embarassing yourself, i doubt anyone gives a toss about your reports

with Salt & a twist of lemon, thats how roosy's is taking all this... just playing I'm sure. the vibe I get is like clean water of RB's back. sorry it'd be off a SwanS back, wouldn't it.

Sounds like minor, immature, schoolies incident. Silly, but I still like the sound of him.

finally, this is it. a kid getting excited stops using his head momentarily. only means he's a risk taker & loves to have fun. I can imagine a young David Schwartz doing this sorta thing, & other stars from red n blue days.

we have been the choirboy next door for too long,, I have limits on character grounds & this doesn't lose him his visa to us imo. but I would draw the line at someone like milns antics.

no pushers, peddlers, door to door rip off merchants, finance managers ripping off elderly, etc.

He's 18 and does a dickhea d act.

I'm a number of decades older and still do dickhea d acts.

Give the kid a chance.

He might just learn a lesson.

characters who like to take things on do these sort a things out of moments of inexperience & panic. as they do things above their experience with courage & come unstuck. meaning he has a go.

we need these take it on types, but ones who learn.

The kid is a DHead for doing what he did. Dont care what age he is, he is old enough to know that drink driving is illegal and can tear families apart and the consequences that come with it. I'm not saying he should be put to the slaughter but it makes me ill the fact you feel for the kid. As someone thats lost a innocent family member to the cowardly act of drink driving he needs a good clip to the ear.

He needs to learn his lesson and win back the respect from alot of the clubs. The bigger test is how will he respond to it.

well then a young Jim Stynes would be in your dikk head book as well then.

before he found his camp to grow.

RB, your reaction to others (incl recruiters and media) is a bit hyperbolic

curnow did a dumb thing at exactly the wrong time and got deserved criticism

all this did was just raise a red flag re his character......reasonable

interested club recruiters will now have to do a bit more due diligence, including talking to him, his manager and maybe others

they will then make a decision to re-evaluate this taking into account many things

there is no reason to be sure they will write him off just purely on this incident

i wouldn't assume melbourne or essendon (or whoever) won't select him if that was their original intention or that he will necessarily slip down the order

i'm sure the recruiters will give him fair consideration taking into account all they can find about him and not just this incident in isolation

if melbourne or essendon don't pick him you still won't know if that incident was the deciding factor. some phantom drafts don't have him in the top 10 anyway.

looking at all the phantom drafts and best ranking they seem to be all over the place this year

Yep, just a young bloke letting off a bit of steam after finishing year 12.

I'm betting most of the Charlie knockers on here have selective memories of: 1) what they were like at that age finishing year 12.

2) whether they have blown over or driven whilst above the limit before.

3) Both.

BTW, saying you have never driven drunk is not the same as having never driven whilst above or blown over the limit.

That's it mate, you can't even have 1% of alcohol on your breath on your P's these days.

Y

Nearly 1/3 of road accident fatalities involve an alcohol impaired driver.

Yeah, heaps of "fun".

yeah and 1/3 die doing the speed limit, the worst thing someone has done in their life is not the sum of their whole character, I wonder if people are judging him more harshly because of his native skin.

I'm not saying he's the worst bloke ever, it's a dumb mistake.

But for Deeluded to say he likes it because it shows the kid is a "risk taker who likes a bit of fun" is incredibly stupid.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
