GAME DAY - Round 21

why do we have to be 5 goals down before we show "intent".

1st Qtr = game over. Now for all those who thought I was way too hard and out of line on our club last weekend. Today's 1st qtr was insipid, gutless, heartless, pathetic and unbelievably bad. This is only Carlton, a club without any good players or performances this year. Our club now has no future. Can Roos show we have improved just one miniscule bit in 2 years? Not sure he is our answer anymore. We don't man up, we drop simple chest marks, we don't chase, we slip over, we kick to the opposition, we miss easy goals, we stand off the action and spectate, we are a crap club. No more memberships for me. I will only watch footy where players have heart, have a go. Local footy is where I go now. To all the protectors of our rabble list of players, hope you enjoy the pathetic club that was once so grand. It is simply embarrassing to follow the MFC now. F C S show some heart Melbourne. You are a pathetic football club right now and have been for many years. All it takes is a will to win. You just don't have that anymore. Roos, show some emotion towards this inept bunch of pretenders. If I am wrong , prove it Melbourne.

The difference between Salem and Grimes right there.

Salem strong in the contest.

Grimes has the body strength of Mr Burns. So fragile.

I'm going for a walk...

Wonder who Howe has signed with for next year?

So, another goal to Carlton and its 44 to 8.

Fat lad getting a rub down on the boundary.....................

The ump in our forward line is an absolute [censored]!

Fremantle: Hey Jesse, How'd you like to be our #1 Forward for the next 10 years back home when Pav retires?

Hogan: Yes Please, when do we start?

This club is stuffed.

Try breaking the fkn tag...

Just once. He never does...

How many Melbourne players block for him and make space for him?

If anyone thinks Howe isnt gone for all money, there is your answer.

Checked out and doesnt give a [censored].

2nd quarter

Hogan stupid 50 !!

Lamumba crashes pack and gets injured. His man stayed down for crumbs.

Howe is crap. Left foot kick out of defence to Carlton player.

[censored] Howe, just [censored]!

If Roos was fair dinkum, Howe wouldn't be playing games after some of his poor efforts this year.

You have to set the standard for the team, even if it's at the cost of losing his trade value.

Look at Carlton and Yarran.

Gawn is a great defender pity it was against a team mate.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
