A couple of suggestions:

Out: Dawes, Harmes

In: Jamar, Toumpas/Hunt

I'm 100% done with Dawes. He HAS to be dropped surely. If he isn't then he never will be. Leader, role player, blah blah blah. He continually butchers the ball and he needs to go.

Jamar for Dawes. As argued before. Harmes looks likely as a player to me. Shame for him he isn't in another team.

Michie MUST be given at least TWO FULL games to show his worth. He has been badly treated this season. In and out like revolving doors.

And revolving Dawes out would be a refreshing notion.

Cloke is probably out for Collingwood next week. That gives us a bit of room to mix things up.

Dawes is out. TMac to the forward line to work with Hogan.

We can bring in either Jamar who has been huge for us at Casey or else one of the in-form smalls. I'd love to give Hunt a shot, but I doubt hes ready.

Looking forward to the midfield contest and Dawes. I hope they bring something to the table this week.

I see no point in playing the likes of Grimes or Michie over Stretch and ANB. Stretch is solidifying his position with disciplined, hard work. Reminds me a little of Viney in his early days.

Switching the kinds and lesser lights around might help with fitness-related issues (e.g. dropping ANB last week), but otherwise is not going to change things.

Dropping senior players who are underperforming (e.g. Dawes, Lumumba, Garland, Dunn) would be useful, but we're not going to drop them all, so the conclusion is that they simply have to perform better on the weekend. We have to demand more from these players.

From the bit I saw Hogan was much worse than Dawes,petulant, abusing team mates, and when he had it could generally not kick the ball over a jam tin, I guess people believe what they want to believe, 7 disposals is not a bag, and is miserly compared to Dawes 17 touches, would not be surprised if his lack of effort he found himself at Casey, needs to pull his big head in.

Out: Dawes must go. He killed confidence and lost the game off his own boot in the first quarter.

In: Fitzy to play either forward or back depending on where McDonald and Howe line up.

I Think Dawes has to dropped I tend to think there to scared to drop based on his salary but his not worth a cent. I would be happy if never played another game for us he has become a liability. I would like see them give Michie a real chance play him for the rest of the year and not as the sub.

Dawes should be dropped. I don't think he's under performing per se, I just don't think he's good enough. Doesn't mark well, doesn't kick many goals, and can't hit targets even when under no pressure. What exactly does he bring to the table? He does try hard and might be important to our forward structure (hard to know watching on TV), but I don't think it's enough.

Hogan is a pure forward. He needs space and he needs his teammates to hit a bloody target. As I mentioned in another thread, we play indirect football. His leads are ignored because we instead play the possession game, which is the easy option. After he's lead, the opposition gets numbers back, and he's stuck in a hole. Why else does he get most of his possessions up the ground?

I'd rather he kick 3 goals and get 5 possessions than kick nothing and end up with 12 possessions up the ground. I mean, obviously right?

For mine, the changes should be to rest tired bodies. Stretch and vandenBurg seemed completely off the pace to me. If Salem is ready, I'd bring him in for Stretch. If vandenBurg has hit the wall he should be replaced with Jamar.

So, IN: Jamar and Salem (if ready)

OUT: vandenBurg and Stretch

Stretch did nothing yesterday. 7 effective touches, a rebound 50 and 3 tackles in a full game. He has been poor for weeks Michie had similar stats in one quarter.

Grimes was in our top three yesterday.

Dawes is the first to dropped, then after next week drop Dunn.

They are our senior leaders and are setting a terrible example to young guys.

Bring them back only when they earn their spot.

We lose with them we might as well lose without them.

I wouldn't have either of the two former Pies in. Stretch to go back to a lower level too, get more involved.

Garland would have to be very close to being dropped, he was awful again. We have far too many ordinary half backs who can't kick the ball - Howe, Garland, Grimes, Lumumba Cross and Jetta are honest battlers but they simply can't dispose of the ball. The sooner Salem is fit and back in the side the better. Playing all these guys means we are down a mid rotation every week too. We need ANB and Michie to run through there, either permanently or as a sub. Same goes for Harmes. These guys play as vfl midfielders, yet when they come up they're stationed as half forwards or small forwards? Makes no sense.

I actually didn't think Tyson was that bad, certainly not worse than Watts or vandenBerg as a wingman. Brayshaw looks cooked, but I'd prefer he play at AFL level than VFL.

My biggest concern about playing Dawes & Lumumba is how inept both were against Collingwood last time around. As soon as the booing started Lumumba commenced a 2 hour long panic attack, and Dawes didn't get near the ball all game.

I would drop Stretch and Michie, with Harmes to play as the sub. Vandenberg is saved only by the lack of replacements.

Any of Fitzpatrick, Neil-Bullen, Spencer, Terlich, Toumpas and M.Jones to come in is fine by me.

I don't agree with your first two lines, but I agree with your third. Which is why I want a second true ruckman in the team. It worked against Geelong, so perhaps it's worth trying again.
