samcantstandya 1,081 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Our very own Adem Yze is hawthorns goal kicking coach and skills in general.. From Hawthorn website Yze played a key role in harnessing the Hawthorn players' elite kicking skills as they developed into the AFL's deadliest team in front of goal over the past two seasons. Since 2010, the team's accuracy has soared from 48 per cent to 57.1 per cent. So who is Melbourne's????? Or is it that we don't have one or we don't practice. We don't kick enough goals and we should. They are pro footballers who can't execute the most important skill to kick goals. U can defend till the cows come home but u need to be in front.
Coq au vin 755 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I usually try to stay positive but Dunn not running for the ball in the last few seconds of the 3rd quarter made me feel physically ill.I'm gutted we lost that one,I never leave until the end but today I was the first one to walk out of the MCG after the final siren. We must have been side by side!
Radar Detector 1,347 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Did you actually watch the game champ? It wasn't just inside 50, we bombed it all over the ground. When the ball is being bombed 20-30 metres away from you how exactly do you contest without having teleportative abilities? We're not talking silver platter, we're talking kicking it remotely near where there's a player, that shouldn't be that hard.Skills are a big issue, no doubt. But the forwards shouldn't be given special exemption from effort if service is sub par. Garlett was the exception and managed a game high 9 tackles.Edit: incoherence
Soidee 1,496 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 This club can always be relied upon to screw its supporters to the wall then throw excrement and then rub it in our noses. Round 15.......4 wins, still bottom 4. Lose to a team who are rock bottom, FFS!! Roos out coached again, this time by Smug Hirdy boy, and Neeld!!! Hope? There's no effing hope when this type of rubbish is dished up year after year. Here's a reminder to those supporters who think we are on the improve........4 wins.....round 15 Makes me sick

Hurley was able to rebound so easily because he was playing 30m off Hogan? If Hogan is that much of a non threat that his opponent is off him by that much then what is he doing in the Afl? Read before you write, stupid post. Hurley was able to rebound because Hogan wasn't farken chasing him and applying pressure.
Dee1987 277 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 3rd qtr was very average and was difference in the end we missed so many opportunities, which always normally hurts we as a club have a way to go in terms of players with what we need. Skills execution over summer no doubt has to be the main focal point not all players can be that bad they need to polish up on skills bad. At the moment we are all well and truly overloaded with losing and poor performances over the last 8 years and well and truly had a gutful Darwin game- Not a fan our record at the ground is pretty poor and our form after the game as we know is very poor, our list has been a rabble which hasn't helped but I hope the club moves to abolish those games
The Stigga 1,097 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Anyone defending or understanding any aspect of this performance must be fully conditioned to the infinite shitness that has been this club for the past decade.
praha 11,268 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I'm sorry but I thought we were beaten convincingly today. Bombers were never going to win by 10 goals, but they were always going to win. 1. Our midfield was on top and Gawn rucked well (probably our best on the day) but our midfield's drive forward was erratic and inept. That evened it out in the end. 2. You can't possibly suggest our defense held its own when a forward kicks 5.0, all of which came at pivotal moments. 3. Our forward line was constantly out-positioned. Garlett tackled and chased hard but the forwards spoiled themselves. It was a very selfish game by Howe and Hogan. 4. They seemed to always have two spares in our forward line, and too often was there no forward going up for the contest. 5. There was dysfunction all around the ground. I saw Brayshaw and later Hogan both yell at experienced players on the AFL Members wing. One player (I think it was Brayshaw) yelled at Jones and said, "Use the first [censored] option!" Overall, if we played anyone bar a bottom 4 side, we would have been stitched up easily by 10 goals. We were very lucky to have been playing Essendon, but they were always a little more structured and coherent going forward. They are not a good team, but we're worse.
Mr Steve 3,820 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 We see it differently here, mate. We lost this because we were playing dry weather, over possessive, cute football. We need to move it quicker and longer inside 50 and the forwards needed to bring the ball to the ground a lot more. It didn't help Jesse was ordinary again and Jeffy's man killed him. Dawes was actually in our top 5 players, with his harrassing and his tap work was superior to Gawn's, which says an awful lot. I agree Forwards going for big grabs and no one at ground level. Needed to come out and make a statement in the first quarter, Just like teams do to us.
Adam The God 30,766 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 1. That's silly. He was our best player today. 2. The draft is a lottery. We need to trade to get some better players. Draft picks are no guarantee of good players.Which game were you watching? Are you a Jamar fan as well? I'd love to know how many of those hit outs were ineffective or directly down the opposition's throat.

Skuit 10,031 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 No, he is a spud. Kicking 5.0 straight against Melbourne doesn't make you any less of a spud. Evidently, *only* doing it against Melbourne makes you *more* of a spud. I'm not superstitious but I just don't see the need to call anyone in the AFL a spud from the sanctity of my couch. Must hurt more for those who do when those such termed players inevitably play well against the Dees.
Emerald 1,744 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 We must have been side by side! You and the other 500 Melbourne supporters with devastated looks on their faces that couldn't handle the smug celebrations of the drugs supporters.
Wiseblood 24,637 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Anyone defending or understanding any aspect of this performance must be fully conditioned to the infinite shitness that has been this club for the past decade. I'd normally be one of those people looking for the positives within a loss... but I can't even do that today. Just a horrible feeling after this loss.
Jack7 528 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Expect anything different? We play everyone into form-Port,Bombers,Cloke,Daniher We are the easiest team to play against by an absolute mile!!! We are a VFL team with a few good players at best. Jack Viney,FFS learn to kick with your right foot,Luke Beveridge has given the Dogs 6 months to kick/handball on opposite side,it's a 360 degree game. In 5-7 years Viney will still be getting caught on his right side like Aaron Davey was for 12 years.
Moonshadow 17,678 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Brett Anderson @BrettAndersonIF 1m1 minute ago The two most inaccurate key forwards in the comp have kicked 12.0 against Melbourne this year. Sums it up. #AFLDonsDees Only at [censored] Melbourne! Don't want to hear excuses from our assistant coaches. Shite loss, whichever way you look at it.
Adam The God 30,766 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Blind bombs are different from going long.We did that a bit, but we were too cute far more often. It from stemmed from that arrogant way we were playing. Had we kicked straight we would have won easily. Hope our players learn from that. That sort of arrogance lost Geelong the game a couple of weeks back.
stuie 7,374 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 So Essendon players were playing off our forwards by 20-30m? Hurley was able to rebound so easily because he was playing 30m off Hogan? Hurley was able to rebound because Hogan wasn't farken chasing him and applying pressure. You did notice there was a loose man in defence right? You did notice we bombed it everywhere not just inside 50? You know forwards lead and if the ball goes in the opposite direction to their lead then they're at a disadvantage? I'm not saying our forwards were great, but blaming the forwards when we absolutely destroyed them with our blind bombs is the stupid part. Now, off to Spotlight for some yarn mate...
CBDees 3,167 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Not quite sure what is happening when Tom McDonald has two extra scoring shots for goal than Hogan and shanks two of them and Dawes kicks three points. What is happening with our forward line? This was a very winnable match however it would have been more of a rout save for Bernie Vince who didn't stop all day. As for some of the passes to players in danger, what was Jones thinking in some of his disposals?
Lucifers Hero 40,746 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Too many apologies for Hogan. Hurley had 9 marks and 24 kicks to Hogan's 6 and 13. It wasn't the delivery today. But he is a kid, he will learn...I hope

We just seemed dumb and lazy today, and it worries me that Roosy couldn't snap them out of it.
Adam The God 30,766 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I'm blaming our forwards. Putrid pressure and absolutely minimal contests. They ran the ball out easy time and time again all day. hogan Garlett and Dawes needs to lift their gameBit unfair on Garlett, who had the most tackles on the ground. Thought he was beaten one on one and positioning-wise though.
CBDees 3,167 Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Too many apologies for Hogan. Hurley had 9 marks and 24 kicks to Hogan's 6 and 13. It wasn't the delivery today. But he is a kid, he will learn...I hope Unfortunately many of Hogan's were up the ground!
