If we DONT beat Essendon I will ...

I'm a bit nervous about this game to be honest. We always beat them when we're not expected to, but now that we should win... I hope we can handle the pressure of expectation!

I will not be surprised.

...be spewing.

My Dad's 70th this weekend so wife, kids and I are flying down to treat him to the 'Melbourne Experience' for the day. I fully expect us to lose.

I shall accept a very onerous penance and, and usual, give myself a jolly good flogging.

I suspect you'd do that win, lose or draw.

No excuses.

be so annoyed, we have managed to beat them when we have been down and pathetic over the years. So now that we have improved and essendon are down we should win. In saying that who knows what will happen. It looks like ti will be a wet miserable day. But we need to beat them just to make there pain worse.

But I will scream if Joe Daniher suddenly finds his kicking boot like cloke did against us.

Big Test for Goodwin this one

Going by his comments on the website..

We must SMASH them

Jab put up the white flag last week.

If we don't beat Essendon then we will lose to Essendon ( or a remote possibility we will draw with them) - but that's just one man's opinion.

Threads like these kinda jumped the shark when that guy didn't follow up on his Rohan Bail tattoo promise. Not even on the butt.

By the way, if we don't beat Essendon I won't be overly surprised. We're a bottom 5 side, just like them. A better one, but anything can happen in 2 hours of footy.

... not be comfortably satisfied? :) :)

Always play your best players Watts has to play Gus for sure ,will be wet so spencer has to go[not for form] Dawes must play, has the big body we need up forward, big carl couldnt take a mark to save his life but frightened the crap out of everyone including our blokes, they all walked taller when he played,Dawes is similar in a different era

I suspect Chris Dawes has never been compared with Carl Ditterich before.

he is working on his suspension tally, and getting the elbows sharpened up

If we don't beat Essendon I will write a letter to Roos telling him not to let Viney anywhere near the backline.

as usual i will blame Roos Dawes & Toumpas, but i will give Watts the week off.

I suspect Chris Dawes has never been compared with Carl Ditterich before.

Or again

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
