Form as in saying that "Dylan Shiel will be at Hawthorn next year", not long before he signed an extension with GWS?

Yeahhhhhh.... not convinced yet.

His Goodwin form was pretty solid last year, so that tells me there's some kind of link with Goodwin but not so much with Shiel

We can always see how it plays out eh

So this guy was the only one saying Goodwin was going to be in that job? Short memories if that's what people think.

For me it's clear this poster receives information. Naturally, that doesn't mean everything comes to fruition.

But he's more likely to be right when it's an in-house Demon topic than a player trade.

Rubbish. Why is it clear? Because he got one thing right, that 1,000s of people thought would happen? Do you know his sources? Know him personally?

The "time will tell" line is a cop out here, and the Shiel "intel" doesn't give him any more cred.

Anyone can be right 5 days after the club puts the story on the website!!

Maybe 'partyboy' has been on vacation, heard the news and thought it was a scoop.

The transition will probably be:

- Goodwin to do less player development and take more training/coaching sessions this year.

- Goodwin to play a big role in the 2015a trade/draft process

- Goodwin takes a chunk of the pre-season coaching work.

- Goodwin to probably coach the NAB games in his own right, without Roos in the box (or even at the game).

- Roos starts coaching from the boundary for part/all of some games towards the middle of 2016 (depending on our wins/losses)

- Goodwin does more work with the board, sponsors and the press in 2016.

- In Sept 2016 Roos walks away.

Roos has made it clear he will not be at the Demons when his contract expires.

He will make damn sure he leaves the players, the list and the coaches in the best possible situation he can.

He will have done the job he was recruited for.

No crystal ball, grapevine contacts are needed when posters read our website regularly.

I don't think anyone cares whether you believe him or not, Stu.

Goodwin will be head coach in 2016.

Roos to take on a mentor role for players and coach before his 3 year tenure finishes.

But PartyBoy is saying that Roos will be the head (senior) coach next year.

They care about as much as whether you do "ProDee".

Who has said otherwise ?

I get you're an emotional guy, Stu.

Deep down you have a heart of gold and often get misunderstood. I'm on your side though,

Humour isn't your strong point "ProDee", maybe stick to talking about footy.... Oh wait...

You get wound up so easily, Stuie.

Why not remain impartial or easy going before real evidence?

I'm confident Party Boy has got it right again.

If this is true it sucks

It's already a load of carp that he's limited himself to 3 years

If Goodwin is just another schmuck like Bailey and Neeld we are back to zero again

Bloody hell we have one good win and the rebuild is complete eh Roosy

i was always secretly hoping by about now Roosy would be seeing the fruits of what he has created and in a control freak like manner decide he is staying put for the premiership. Its not Roosy's style though and i think Goodwin will be fine. Still as soon as he loses a game watch the pitchforks come out and the bring back Roos stuff to start.

Wouldn't mind Goodwin in the chair for the Bombers game.

Hope that Roos isn't leaving earlier though, than we would have presumed, for some other bloody basket case...

Posted

In all fairness, for what contracts are worth nowadays Shiel could still end up playing for the Hawks next year. And that would suck more than Roos demoting himself halfway through his already short expensive tenure.

The big question is: Will Paul Roos have any role at the club in 2017??????

The answer is no....

He's already said he walks away at the end of 2016 and that's the end of it.

The quicker we can get Paul Roos out of the gameday tactical command role, the better. Let’s face it, that is not his strength.

Yeah only won a premiership with it but anyways...

He has said somewhere along the line that he would like to stay involved in the club but at a reduced level.

He wants to be able to travel during summer etc...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
