Hird in his presser " ...it's because of the media propaganda ..."

Que?

Classic propaganda technique, not unlike the way the extremely right-wing Fox News continually call themselves "fair and balanced" while attacking all other media for being lefties. It's their way of pushing the idea of 'neutrality' further in their direction.

Basically an attempt to paint the ridiculously pro-Essendon media as "neutral". Pathetic and the all-too-predictable next step for Hird's ilk to keep public perception in his favour. I think that's well and truly a lost cause. The only people against the WADA appeal now appear to be Essendon supporters.

There's a lot of arrogant blokes associated with the game of AFL, but I reckon Hird would be king. An absolute A grade [censored]. I hope we smash his team and he gets the sack right after the game.

EDIT. Had to change my insult there. My rather obscene swear word passed through the filter. :P

if we beat the bombers by 10 goals surely Hird gets the chop?

Well, whenever we beat a team, all the discussion is usually about our poor the opposition was. I wonder how long that will continue. Smashing them would be brilliant though.

Watching the game tonight and i think this must be the first time i've watched a Dogs game that Luke Darcy has commentated.

This guy has to be up there with Eddie & Derwayne Wussell with the biggest cheer squad members in the commentary box. Not hiding who he wants to win one iota.

He's already the least insightful of commentators and probably the worst commentator out there. He's somehow managed to be worse tonight. His bias is pathetic. He sounds far more energetic calling this game though.

Looks like the unstoppable tandem of Boyd and Stringer are being stopped.

Maybe Brisbane just made them (and Waite, Riewoldt, Dixon, Casboult, Daniher) look good?

Who would have thunk it?

What's happened to Crameri? What have I missed there? I gather he's injured? Stringer is not a KPF. Handy, but wouldn't put the fear in me if I had two serviceable KPDs.

Apparently he's playing for Footscray tomorrow.

Thought this might be close though. It's why I've kept it on in the background.

Just makes Boyd's rising star nomination last week all the more laughable. Anyone who actually watched the game and didn't just read the stats knows he had minimal impact and was gifted 3 of his 4 goals.

"The high-priced forward had some good fortune go his way for three of his goals, but he used that to build his confidence for a breakout game of 12 touches and six marks – four of which were contested."

Quoted from afl.com.au article about Boyd's nomination.

Softest nomination ever?

Has to be up there.

He was on SEN during the week and Schwarz was basically pulling the [censored] out of him.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
