Could one of you highly trained psychologists please give your professional definition of "mentally soft"? Having obviously played at the highest level you would know what it takes to be mentally strong.

I don't know what some you watch when you go to the footy. Like Watts, Jurrah would pick and choose his contests. I know he was lightly framed and was used to playing on dirt, so they rarely tackled or threw each other to the ground, so there are mitigating circumstances, nonetheless, he struggled to come to grips with the physicality of AFL footy.

I get you guys didn't see it, but it was plain for all to see. It doesn't mean it happened every time, but there were numerous instances when Jurrah avoided situations when he shouldn't have.

You don't agree, that's fine, I'll leave it there.

He was a hell of a player, very talented individual.

Should still be out there, but didn't have the mental toughness.

So I would partially agree with you, that he is mentally soft.

in fairness though, we only saw a brief part of his football development

given he was coming from a long way back (in terms of afl requirements) who knows how he would have developed and improved those "weaknesses"?

if only.....................

If it were up to you, Jurrah would still be on our list on his 100th chance.

I am no psychologist, but when it comes to predicting Liam Jurrah, I think my track record is second to none on this forum.

I don't need to go over it in this thread - as it is already in the Jurrah thread.

Absolutely, agree 100%.

Talent wise, he is up there with Jacko.

Strange way of showing you "get it", proddy - when what you immediately say is to invalidate what you just said you got.

"You'll leave it there"...?

If only Jurrah didn't bash women...

If only Henry Lawson wasn't such a drunk.

If only we could all be so highly evolved that our shyte never stank.

There's actually plenty here that agree with me. It's their choice to remain silent.

But I "get" that some football observers are barely that, which explains the outrage at such a suggestion. You cannot see what you cannot see.

I'll leave it there.

Good for you, 316, Jurrah's downfall has only enhanced your standing.

I figured you wouldn't. Last word merchant. Speaks for those who don't speak, too.

Sees what others don't. Then explains they can't. Shlt it's lousy being me! Enjoy the footy, but what would I know? Like the players, like the grounds, I'm just rubbish. Should turn myself in to Chuck Norris and be done with it - if he'd just take the time to annihilate me. Sorry Prods mate.

Ahhhhh ProDee doesn't like Jurrah (to go along with Goodes and Lumumba)... There's a surprise.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
