Without blaming 1 player & he had some mates with him... But player wearing number 4 couldn't muster not 1 tackle!

My concern is that tackling is a big part of Roos non negotiable & yet I just don't think its a part
of his dna....

Feel better about yourself now OD?

You sound very empathic Ethan? Do you detect that OD needs counselling? God knows he probably does. However you could better direct your skills to some of the real sickos on this site. I hesitate to name them (Stuie )

In fact Demonland is full of weirdos and strange [censored]. FMD, the more I think about the more I should stay away from here.

In fact I have serious misgivings about you Ethan.

Man, you should stand on a busy street corner spouting this kind of absolute [censored] with a hat on the ground at your feet. You'd make a fortune. It would be very hard not to give something as clearly you are NQR

BBO has 12 more posts than Moonshadow (5374 vs 5362). An amazingly small gap considering the large numbers at play. I'm starting to wonder if you're the same nutcase person, just replying to yourself all the time...

Not possible! That would mean that I considered 12 of my posts unworthy of comment, when obviously everything I say is a (turd) pearl to be admired and polished!

Thank you for pointing that odd fact out Nasher.

It's like we are holding hands together in the Demonland journey of life (not that there's anything wrong with that). I can assure you that we are in fact separate nutcase people, as separate as we are from your nutcase self!

Collingwood went on an amazing run. 9 straight goals i think? Down 38 and then never looked like losing, even when North hit the front again.

What I noticed about Collingwood and even North at times is just an undeniable endeavour, true team play. Melbourne imo has far from the worst list in the league -- I'd put as above the Blues, Lions, Saints, Bulldogs (yes), Suns -- yet as Roos points out, once players loose that mental toughness in a game it's all about, "Well, we're going to lose, I'm going to play for myself now". No team capitulates quite like we do. Outscore 100 to 20 in 2 quarters of football, most of it coming in 1 quarter. That is something we should have left behind in 2013. Evidently, it's still present and has been present in two games this year. The Hawthorn game doesn't count because if we let them get on a role of dominance the same way GWS and Port did then we'd have lost by 200 points. Both GWS and Port started the game in 1st gear then went to 5th gear while Melbourne stays stuck in Neutral. Do you notice that we're not even that bad when we do actually get the ball in those patches? We just CAN'T. GET. THE. BALL. They chase and ball watch. They literally lose the intent to win the ball: can't hold tackles, can't string together possessions, can't get into space.

We saw how hard they ran against Richmond and the Bulldogs. Our problem is right in the middle of the ground: unless the midfield plays 100% of the game at 100%, then the team completely breaks down.

Our best is still good, but our bad is completely and utterly inept.

When are we going to turn a corner?

Collingwood have had a much easier draw than MFC.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
