The Club is pathetic. I have valuable information regarding Adam Tomlinson. I emailed the football club suggesting that someone from the football department call me.

Still waiting.

Hopeless.

He's very ordinary and doesn't have a fixed position. Too short for a 2nd ruck, too slow for a key defender, not agile enough for a midfielder.

Not slow 'George', but has yet to find a place as you say.

I might be mistaken, but I think Max King is from Qld and eligible for a third year like Spencer was.

He's from Wagga.

All rookies can be given a 3rd year I believe, but it's a bit more complicated than that.

I think we have to apply and make him available to other teams in the draft. Can't remember exactly.

Yes, he has to go back through the ND and PSD and we get him before the RD. Well that was the rule a few years ago...

I saw this in an AFL article: 'Eade said the club would focus on picking up the best available talent in the upcoming draft, while it would use the trade period to boost its playing stocks in the 22 to 27-year-old age bracket.'

Suns appear to be losing Dixon so will need a 'tall'...could it be that Watts and Howe are heading towards the sun. Maybe in return for a player eg Prestia, O'Meera, Bennell?

In an ideal world we get to keep our 1st round pick.

Watts doesn't play tall. Prestia has ruled out a move to us, and O'Meara won't be going anywhere. Think we have missed out on all the top end talent available this time around (as usual). We aren't an attractive destination at present and won't be until we are playing finals consistently.

On Grimes, I disagree. He's a turnover king, is slow, hand passes to players who are in imminent danger of being tackled, can't kick, and can't make quick correct decisions.

Fits the age bracket and has experience Gold Coast are after . Could be useful as a trade .

The trade period hasn't even started yet. Guess this is the negativity Roos was talking about :)

Haha. Well Treloar has nominated the Pies and the general consensus is that Danger is off to Geelong. I wouldn't say I'm negative, just realistic about our ability to sign top end talent over our better resourced and more successful competitors.

No disagreeing with you there.

But money talks.

We'll get something good but we'll have to give up plenty for it.

I think King is definitely worth elevating to the main list on a 2 year contract. We don't exactly have a plethora of developing talls and he made big improvements on his game this season.

I wouldn't be surprised if we offer him a similar contract plus our first rounder and another pick/player. Then if Pies aren't coming to the party we may be able to swoop.

This is a coaching movement rather than player but nowhere else to really put it.

It seems that Little, Jobe Watson and others flew to Adelaide in Little's private jet to get Worsfold to coach Essendon!

They broke their verbal and 'handshake' undertaking to not approach other club staff!

Dubious ethics and gobsmacking arrogance!

That club has learnt nothing from the drugs saga and ethical boundaries!

Adelaide (rightly) not very happy as they are playing a final this weekend.

Ess have apologised...too little too late...(no pun intended)

Dunn stays.

Champion of the game.

Can be a solid player, as he was today.

Calling him a 'champion of the game' epitomises the bipolar attitude of Demonland.

contract year hero. more of the same culture that watts has adopted.

..... & almost identical to the Mfc culture of the decades,, perform your tricks at the right time, to maintain a contract... this is not, a winning premierships formula.

this is, in a NutShell - the inconsistent formula

There is a real sense that something is going on of significance. Have the feeling a big fish will be landed from left field.

If we can do this, forget football. We're going to make a fortune farming.

For Dangerfield's sake, I hope he has a real hard think about his Premiership aspirations. I look at the Geelong side now, with the retirements and pending retirements in the next 12 months, and I can't help think that EOS dress ups on Mad Mondays would be the only thing he have look forward to over the next few seasons. They've been a great team and club for the past 10 years or so, and they may not exactly bottom out like basketcase's of the past because of Geelongs ability to recruit and make changes each year to fill holes and develop kids through to a good standard.

If it's a premiership he's after he's probably better off where he is at present. Purely from a neutral perspective.

Or take a punt alongside the Hulk at the Dees..

Pls spare us this year from your ill informed information, last year it was terrible

I was first to post on our interest on Luke Shuey and the issue with Hogan's unsigned extension but i will concede all my mail in 2014 did not come to fruition.

What is the issue with the extension?

Delist Pedersen?!?!

Have you lost the plot?

I would have thought Pedo was one of several players on the cusp of being delisted.

He's 29 next season and has shown that he has a clean pair of hands (unlike Dawes) and is a thumping kick (unlike Hoges) and works hard.

But he also is regarded as being a tad slow which means he can't play the lead-up role anywhere near as well as the two players mentioned.

On top of that he is out of contract which means that he is one the club will be discussing - it's a lot easier to cut him than say Dawes who has a year to run on a big contract.

To me, it will probably ultimately get down to Fitzy or Pedo - with both potentially redrafted as rookies.

Still it has shown to have some value in the past.

I get impeccable mail from another club, yet I was wrong about a certain defender just recently, as the drastic change of heart that had occurred hadn't been passed on to me.

Made me look a little silly, much to my amusement.

If anything it showed me that you can have the best contacts around, but this industry remains fluid and timing is everything.

Could Heeney be in the mix?

Could Heeney be in the mix?

No chance.

Rumor on Bomberblitz that we are into Hamish Hartlett.

Harlett to Dees

Dixon to Port

However and 2nd rounder to Suns.

We are offering big money to entice him.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
