Does anyone know the contract status of Jayden Hunt. I think he's out of contract and if they wanted him you'd have expected him to have signed along with White, Stretch, ANB and King.

What are people's thoughts?

Assume he is OOC since he was drafted in '13, haven't seen him at all, but sounds like he's delist material despite battling injuries, maybe a rookie spot, was very left field at the time.

Really? Brad Green doesn't strike me as that kind of fellow.

I was trying to be discrete. I meant Carlton's most recent Senior Coach who was previously the senior coach at three other clubs and holds the record for most senior games coached.

No, I need more. First name starts with ?

Ben Lennon ?

if your referring to Tyson, then a trade of an established Mid, for a potential? I'd say if Tyson is unhappy, then trade for Lennon + pick as well, to cover the risk.

Can do some special stuff, but only gets it 9 times a game.

But there's talent there.

Conundrum.

You would send the club broke within 3 weeks give it a rest .

Nailed it in three.

give yourself a rest DH.

If a player (Tyson) wanted out, after 2 seasons, it might be a good move to sell high.

.......... if we could get a pick for him, from the Saints @ 5, or the Pies @ 7, we would surely have Curnow? & Weideman? covered.

Lennon, Curnow and Weideman

would be super disappointed if we finished the trade period with our best recruits being Bugg, Kennedy and Melksham. Go big. Try get a steal with a 2nd round a pick. Someone with blistering pace as an outside mid, or A 2nd forward who comes up the ground. Someone with elite skills and speed coming off half back (even though Salem plays that role)

Lol boy aren't you going to be super disappointed!

As Josh Mahoney said we aren't exactly a destination club atm. What those players bring is super competitiveness and upgrade of depth. We will improve with these guys next year i have no doubt. Don't forget we will still have pick 6 and going by Jason Taylor's record he will land an absolute beauty.

Have faith in our recruiting team.

If we landed all three of Bugg, Kennedy and Melksham and managed to keep our first round pick, I'd be very happy. Those three are into our best 22 immediately and therefore, improve the depth of the entire list.

I am also very confident we'll improve. Pushing for finals in 2017 i reckon. Maybe even next year. Who knows. I know I have probably mentioned it so many times. At the time being our midfield is a little raw with Vince and Jones carrying the lot having to go against the Fyfe's, the Dangerfields, Hannerbery's and Mitchells. If you look at our list our midfield has massive potential to be a superstar midfield in 3-5 years with Viney, Petracca, Vandenburg, ANB and Brayshaw on the inside, with Tyson, Salem, Stretch on the Outside. Not to mention Gawny serving the pill on a platter to them. Combine that group with the likes off Tmac, Omac, Frost, White and Jetta down back along with Hogan, Garlett, Kent (Insert 2nd forward here), and we have got the potential to be a super team in a couple years

But tbh, i'd rather pair pick 22 (from GC for Howe) with a player to get someone like Sam Reid.

Prepare to be super disappointed Demonlads.

We ain't gunna get an A grader unfortunately.

We would all like to pair up our top picks and land a big fish mate, but the reality is that most, if not all, are off the table. Guys like Hartlett and Parker have either re-signed or signalled an intention to do so, while others like Dangerfield and Treloar have said they want to play at other clubs.

If there is no big fish out there this year then the club needs to pour it's energy into improving the list in the best way possible so we are well placed in 2016 and 2017 to make a play for a bigger name. If there is nothing out there this year then there isn't much we can do about it.

are there any 2nd string forwards we may/should look at?

If we're unable to find an A grader to trade our first pick on, then I'd be happy to take it into the draft. Although it's a shallower draft than previous years there's still plenty of talent that'll be recruited in the first 15-20 picks.

Tyson is our best inside mid...

I'd have some degree of satisfaction knowing we have cleared some who were just Xmas decorations, for the past few years.

I'd still like to see MJ & Terls moved along, & Dawes traded.

think I'd still like to see Fitz Re-rookied, if nothing else comes along.

Agree we need to build more.

Fingers crossed that Trengove gets back.

Petracca on field is a gun.

That's "two recruits" (say our prayers).

Aim for 10 wins minimum in 2016.

Then bring in Prestia and finals IMO in 2017.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
