Delistings/trades at end of the season

Recommended Posts

Does bringing in great players on great money ever really cause instability? I've heard supporters use that line often, but I can't recall any evidence of that happening in my lifetime.

I would have thought in the professional era, most players would look past the envy of the big income earners and would be quite happy to have a superstar added to their side to enhance their flag chances.

Brad Hardie to the Bears rings a bell. They wouldn't kick it near him. But they were a rabble and hardly a football team at that point, so maybe the example falls down.

Black was well beaten by Lucas Cook a few weeks ago

Watched the VFL last weekend with Black playing and he looked fairly dangerous off few posessions (kicked a few goals and lots of points i think), but when he gets to AFL he seems to be like our Bail/Matt Jones/Mckenzie this year. But go back a year or two ago and he was on fire..

Also Jack steele to debut for GWS.. Have never seen him play but i want him like a Tyson type deal.

As for Dangerfield...

I really dislike his condescending attitude to the fans. I understand it is a profession for him but calling it a hobby for fans is a real put down, for true fans/supporters it is much more than a hobby and some times to our detriment.

Happy that he won't be coming here.

Personally, I would like to recruit very good players.

Very good players are ok by me.

I think if you asked Jones and Hogan and Tyson - they would also like us to recruit very good players.

Agree'd, i get the sense he's lapping up the attention at the moment, everyone knows exactly what he's doing.

Currently my thoughts for end of season:

TRADE:

Howe

Grimes

Fitzpatrick

RETIRE/DELIST:

Jamar

McKenzie

Bail

Think the big turnover will come at the end of 2016. Given we're coming into a weak draft we may have the calm before the storm this year.

“Rohan Bail, Dean Terlich, Jake Spencer and Matt Jones have continued to play well for Casey Scorpions and are in the mix for the final side, which will be finalised after Friday’s - See more at: http://m.melbournefc.com.au/season/team-announcement#sthash.HRviSHFx.dpuf

Really? All of these are due to be delisted. In fact we should have delisted them already, Where is the pride in MFC? Get some elite top level players into the greatest football club in the world and get rid of these spuds!!!!!!

Should roos and Goodwin go and pick the elite top level talent off the elite top level talent growing tree that grows in the gardens at elite top level talent street, in elite top level talentville?

Hi I am the Ultimate Demon and I am a new member. I am a die hard Demons supporter and everyone in my family is!

...

Welcome legend.

Like your enthusiasm in your first post. It will soon fade and you will be as bitter as the rest of us.

In response to your post, i couldn't give a rats [censored] ass if any of the players you named were gone by seasons end. So i recon you nailed it.

See you round the D'Land.

Forget about the draft. We will be trading, methinks.

Hi I am the Ultimate Demon and I am a new member. I am a die hard Demons supporter and everyone in my family is!

Here are a few players who I have considered:

- Dean Terlich

- Matt Jones

- Jordie Mc Kenzie

- Rohan Bail

Please post your thoughts! :)

Pretty sure Matt Jones & Terlich are contracted.

What about this trade:

Mebourne: Pick 1 (likely 4 or 5), Pick 2 and Howe

GWS: Conglio, Tomlinson, Hampton

Would they go for it?

Doubtful, but we can dream!

I didn't want to start another thread so here is a Martin Flanagan story on Aaron Davey Liam Jurrah & Ozzy Wonaeamirri playing in Vic last week.

Liam is only 26

Interesting that the censored word in my reply quote was not censored in your original post Song, but no doubt will in the next little while.....

What a great first post, I had the Ultimate Warrior's entrance song running through my head as I started reading it.

Give it up.

It's not going to happen.

rpfc, no barrow to push from me. I posted that because it was about 3 past MFC players.

PS. If Jurrah was on our rookie list now, would he play this week?

How did he get there?

It's your hypothetical - in what reality could we have picked him up in the RL? Certainly not this one.

One post and already you make sense! I think that the four players you suggest are better suggestions than the three de listings suggested in post # 506

You could choose to engage and answer the question or not.

So if by some miracle he was on the list as a rookie let's say the pixies did it, would he play this week? I say probably. I am not advocating that we do rookie him.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final.
