Forget the PP.

The bottom four clubs need a salary cap increase x 10% so they have the cash to buy players.

i agree the PP is dead...sort of lives in disguise as favours come FA compo.

I like the idea of bottom four getting 2 picks as above. Maybe together with a top up capping as per pigdog you might have a real chance

Bump

It is likely that we may not win more then 4 games again.

I hope submitting an application is highly considered if this is the case...

God, get the [censored] over the [censored] handouts! Fat lot of good they've done us

Last one basically got us Hogan. Could use a couple more Hogans in the red and blue

Yet you laud Hogan who we got from our last PP basically.

We need more talent, it was obvious today in the amount of changers and turnovers we were making that our team just doesn't have the talent needed yet.

We got a compensation pick from Scully leaving.

You wan't a hand out from the AFL from losing..

Two completely different situations.

And Scully was from a PP. So without that PP we wouldn't have had the compo for Hogan.

And yes right now I'm happy to take what we can get to ocl our team with talent.

There is less pride in being bottom of the ladder for 10 years then their is in applying for a PP. Hell we applied last 2 years so ruling it now this year would be naive

If PJ doesn't send in the letter applying for one, i'll happily draft it for him, olisik right, this team needs as much talent as it can possibly get. Still far too many NQRs

I don't think anyone is saying we're set for talent. We're just not stupid enough to believe we'll get a PP. Not to mention we'll win more than 5 games...

We are not as bad as our wins make us look.

With Kent, Petracca, Frost, JKH, Salem, Trengrove and Garland back and playing well our team looks a lot better. I am assuming that Petracca is at least the equal of Brayshaw.

With improvement in Toumpas, Dyson ( who is not playing well ATM ) Stretch, ANB, Watts, Viney, Gawn, King, Harmes and White and then further trades and draftees coming in next year, we have the makings of a fair side.

I think the PP is dead and we have to do it by smart decisions and good development of our young players, from now on.

It can be done.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
