Looking forward to some overpaying for Howe and landing us another top 20 draft pick.

Well....late change had to help family. Not sttending..initially disappointed. Glad now

Not sure whether a wake a call for the players ...or Roos. From little I've seen you just cant play this brand of footy.

Tis already ugly:((

Well..back to the grind.. as im dure you at game are also thinking.

We're bloody good at getting other teams back up and firing :(

Any chance we can lay a tackle in the f50? Apparently 75% of he time we get it in there the Hawks get a goal. Wow. Just Wow.

What a stat What a bunch of lazy assed players we have.

Useless. Hardly takes skill to tackle. Its intent and desire. This team doesn't have it. CLean the list out again f&*&^ me

If that stat is accurate (and I have no reason to doubt it) then it is absolutely disgusting. You're right, that has nothing to do with skill, it's about effort.

F U Melbourne, you are ruining my weekends. FFS

A goal!!!! A goal!!!!!

No that can't be right

Toumpas and Bail have been good.

I don't know which was worse. Bail's shot at goal or Toumpas's attempt to pass it.

Jeffy runs another one in!

Edit: Neitz in the hawks box? What is his role?

seriously interesting choice of words there. Sums up quite a bit of Demonland, I think. (not a good time to be making such an observation, I know...)

It's a Checker Hughes quote and is where we got our nickname from.

The more you learn!!!

Oh my god seeing Neitz in the Hawks box is nauseating.

toumpas,must feet made of jelly

Footy is played mostly above the shoulders. But where's the drilled skills & ferocious tackling as a bare minimum at this level when nothing else is working? The ability to hit lead up targets under pressure to move the ball up the field when the heat is on. When u aint got the ball man up and tackle/spoil/pressure! FMD

and everyone bags watts for not trying, have a good look at the 22 out there today

Hamstring...Stretch now on.

This game is like a death of a thousand cuts...

Anyone think this club ain't cursed.

Of course we have so much depth in skilled running defenders that Salem's injury won't hurt us at all.

That is nearly half our best 22 out this week, and for a struggling team with little depth that will always devastate.

toumpas,must feet made of jelly

Even when Wines is out injured, he has more of a positive influence on his teams game than Toumpas.

Any chance we might apply some pressure at some stage? This is pathetic, bruise free football is back!

yes but in the light of 1973-1987, it's hardly a usable quote any more, surely!

So how good is this McDonald kid..... Nothing else worth mentioning.

I don't know why Pedo gets dropped ahead of Dawes.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
