GAME DAY - Round 7

I hate it, he's not good enough, he was going to be dropped anyway. He might have got in first before Roosy gave him the bad news. Watts will be lucky to get back in the team and today Hawthorn would have made him look like a girl.

Your hatred of Jack Watts is so sad. And you claim to be a Melbourne supporter? Support your players mate!

What do you suppose you look like, using such language?

Sitting in the Southern working on my suntan. The sun is blinding so hopefully I won't see much of the game. I think we will be lucky to kick three goals with this lineup!

Roos just said on MMM that Watts asked to be dropped this week as he feels he has been letting the team down in recent weeks. He has his haters but I reckon that is pretty honourable by Jack

Edit spelling

You wonder why the coaching panel 'agreed' to drop Jack, given they had doubts about Hogan's fitness. A pep talk from the coaches to Jack about how much the team needed him might have been the incentive he needed. It worries me, since when do players call the shots.

Who's the [censored] who thought Freo/Syd/Haw was a great successive run to give us at the start of the season?

Talk about completely destroying any confidence we gained against Richmond/Gold Coast (especially now they've been proven fairly inept by other teams).

You wont find anyone who does not like Jack Watts the person, that has never been questioned

Yes it is sad, but it's a physical rough game and he is too scared to get his hair messed up. He is in the wrong sport.

.

Apparently Jack Watts rates himself so highly that he decides when he plays and when he doesn't, bloody joke!

Far out that is pathetic from Watts if true. Asking to be dropped, has anyone ever done that before? No competitive footballer with any self respect would do that.

Just give it away jack.

I bet he's played 100 more AFL games than you.

c'mon demons, hoping for a competitive effort

7 of our "best 22" missing, 9 of you include petracca and Trengove, 10 if you include Jamar.

Our list doesn't run that deep that we can afford to have players 25-32 and not get belted.

Only Yze from memory

no Hogan? replaced by Pedersen? jesus christ

this will be a snoozefest

Was hoping for Gawn

I'm at the ground listening to the roars as the teams came on. I think they forgot to advertise the game, nobody here, no atmosphere at all except really loud music.

Now would be a good time to pray, ladies and gents.

Or to start drinking...

In contrast to Adelaide/Saints game. Packed house and Saints doing real well.

Garry Lyon just suggested anyone in the players rooms should give Jesse a wide berth as he is like a bear being stalked.

I think he wanted to play

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
