The Worksafe dilemma would make for a classic 'Yes Minister' episode with Humphrey describing any attempt to actually do the right thing as opposed to 'look ' like one is as a very BRAVE and NOBLE endeavour....Minister !!!!

What does it matter who LU supports or even what their motive is. S/He has put forward cogent, coherent opinions based on reading the relevant articles. I have found it interesting to read an alternative view. Furthermore these have been put forward in a respectful and non-abusive manner. Why do you feel the need to disparage LU for doing this?

So Daddy Watson thinks that his story that the AFL were trying to cut a deal just before the Tribunal announced its decision proves the Tribunal was independent. Strange that he should bother now.

But if the story is true then it is possible the AFL knew they were going to get off and they were certain that WADA would appeal which would mean the saga would drag on for even longer with a possibly worse outcome. In the absence of facts, wild speculation is fun.

It does not get any lower in sport than having a club sponsored illegal substance program.

Essentially the above has always applied but there are many in the football world including the media who have clouded the issue because of their own vested interests (and on both sides of the argument). The standard remains one of proof to the comfortable satisfaction of the tribunal hearing the case as to whether the Essendon players ingested the illegal substance TB4. There is more chance that Charter, Alavi and even Dank will be compelled to give evidence because of the different nature of the CAS Tribunal compared to that of the AFL. Supreme Court judge Croft ruled against compelling Charter and Alavi because it wasn't a court of arbitration - once they are compelled to give evidence the game changes.

As for Worksafe, don't hold your breath.
