Why not? I havent seen a first year midfielder as good as him for a while, and it's not like he can feed off a Gary Ablett like O Meara did in his first ,Cripps had 35 disposals yesterday...

And when was the last time you saw a KPF as good as Hogan?

We had a poor game but last week was a great win.

We'll be a better team than North next year.

Granted that we need to be a much improved team next year to keep the Hulk.

He didn't hesitate extending his contract at the back end of last year, and we were playing much worse footy then. Relax.

He is already pretty close to elite. There is seriously nothing he can't do. Even his set shot routine has improved and I'd back him to convert most of his chances.

I'm sick of hearing this [censored] every day on here.

MFCSS in the extreme.

None of you know the kid, he could be the most loyal bloke going around, but wahhhh he's gunna leave us!

Get over it, worrying about [censored] that hasn't happened and may never happen is is a waste of time.

Just enjoy having a decent player for [censored] sake.

I've lived thru Scully-Trengove-Jurrah-Aussie-Clark.

It's a miracle I haven't had a nervous breakdown yet. MFCSS is to be expected.

Having said that, Hogan keeps me coming to games and I hope that will be the case until I'm 40 and he's 32.

Seriously this guy is an absolute beast. He'll be one of the stars of the comp in a few years - and he's ours! He bloody ragdolled that sook Thompson today, one of the premier defenders in the comp.

Will be dominating games Carey style in a year or two. And with Gus and Petracca feeding him the footy it's gonna be bloody formidable for other teams.

None of this guarantees anything of course - look how the Saints went with Plugger - but it gives us a bloody good start.

We all have.

It's no excuse though to be negative about our chances of keeping Hogan around.

Plus, if viney plays like he has we will be the best team in the league. The future is bright!!!

Offer him the "buddy" deal tomorrow

He will stay, you cannot deny we will be a great team. Get rid of the remaining dead wood whilst continuing our good recruiting and we will be set

Hogan is back into second for the contested marks across the league.

Hawkins - 43

Hogan - 41

Lynch - 40

Hooker - 39

Then a gap to Jack Reiwoldt at 33. It's a tight race.

Also up to 36 goals for the year which is nice.

It is evident that this guy is something quite special. As a supporter nothing, nothing, could give us a shot in the arm or more desire to become a new member than by locking this bloke up on a long term deal ( Same for Maxxy). Message to the club,

"How about giving us an early Christmas Present"

Yes hes good, but the Rising Star means just that, a rising star...... Hogan will be a star, without a shadow of a doubt.

I think he was the only player with the 'mark of respect arm band' on so I'm imagining it was personal and not club related.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
