POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 3

Brayshaw has a bit of Rod Carter about him.

We still need a ruckman that can hurt the opposition around the ground.

Agree with you DeeZee Jamar has been finished for a long time. We are way to slow to move some players on. He's like a malfunctioning robot.

Brayshaw has a bit of Rod Carter about him.

Well spotted. He has that iconic tilt.

Did anyone see Kent absolutely ragdoll Jake Kelly during the scuffle?

Our foot skills were poor all day long, even before the rain. We stayed in it because of super endeavour.

Watts makes himself really hard to defend. It's not errors, because he had friends there. It's the lack of application, guts and heart. The first mark he dropped was because he dropped his head waiting for contact. He showed nothing for the rest of the game to demonstrate that he wanted to make amends. Bitterly disappointing.

Not sure if you could see on the TV, but after Hogan kicked one off the ground in the 3rd ( when Brayshaw took a step too many) he tried very hard to pump the rest of the players up....looked like "c'mon boys lift.....we can get these blokes......go boys". Had leadership all over it.

Poor kicking by both Hogan and Garlett. Hogan's stuttering run up has to be sorted out. It is all over the place. He is very good in all other aspects of the game and will only get better.

Loved the game Vince played and Tmac is a beauty.

Brayshaw is excellent fo a 3 gamer and I would like to see him given a start next week.

If Frost does not come up bring in Pedo. Would like to see Watts dropped. His efforts and bricks for hands attempts at marking need to be punished. Get him out of the limelight a bit and give him a run at Casey for a couple.

Players need to take the first option the way they seemed to do in the first quarter. After that they looked to be overthinking it, taking a step too far and not talking.

Finally, the umps were bad all day and we were on the rough end of the stick. How can Kent be punished for jumping over the top for a mark and Danger not be for doing the same thing with less of an attempt to mark?

Too often there is no one crumbing near him when he contests. Usually out on the flank one on one and the next nearest player is invariably from the other side

Were still learning basics.

This is another couple of standards higher than basic.

Although No3 looks to be getting better.

I saw that too and it was great to see. Had the guts to calm him down and get in his ear about it. The kid will be fantastic for us going forward.

Should've snuck up and dumped a cup of water on him.

McDonald is going to show Jack Reidwolt up for the sooky flat track bully spud that he is next week, and it's going to be great

For what and why?

It's just irrelevant not poor form. Got not problem with critique of Bailey's coaching. He's dead. It's sad. Don't attack him as a person but you can critique his job.

No problem with Watts having played 98 games. Don't think Bailey did the recruiting either.

The issue with Watts is Watts. He's had all the coaches, all the positions, all the roles. All the preseasons. It's up to him to show he really wants to be an AFL player. Which means not dropping simple marks.

He's a [censored] and should be moved on. Been saying it for years. I don't know why people expect anything different.

Just finished watching, and I thought it was a solid 4 quarter effort, but we let ourselves down with a couple of obvious things.

- Converting. Jeffy and The Hulk both missed crucial shots at crucial times. For Jeffy, it is a bit of an ongoing thing, so a bit concerning. He looks so dangerous apart from his set shots, would almost prefer him play on and snap it.

- Jack Watts, my oh my. What a god awful performance.

Haven't seen the game but pist off to again see Kent and Garlett wasteful in front of goal. Fcs dean kent if you are going to get the ball 10 times a game you need to be kicking 3.0 rather than 1.2.

Jamar 5 possessions and not a single mark!? Effectively playing 1 short.

This

Jamar offers very little besides his ruck work, and even his value there is questionable. Time to give Max Gawn or Spencer another crack I think.

What a [censored]. Never liked him from the start.

Crows are going to be also rans this year, all other teams will take note of what we did today and raise the level with skill and polish on top. Crows are fragile.

Hard to believe the ill-informed tripe being served up about Jamar! Today he was one-out against an opponent who many believe is the best in the business. I think Jamar was credited with high 40's in tap outs. I wasn't at the game, but Jamar's tap work in the previous two outings showed he had reached a higher level... I have felt throughout his career that he at least halves the contest with the other gorillas in the comp. If Gawn etc were good enough they would be able to compliment what Jamar brings to the table with around the ground contested marks and goals... They have not stepped up to this point in time, which is hardly the Russian's fault!

Couldn't agree more. Jamar was more than fine today. Going in with Spencer/Dawes or Gawn/Frost would still scare the life out of me. Jamar got monstered by Mummy in the second half last week, but apart from that he has been very good this year.

Check out the Crows coach having a cry about Bernie Vince destroying Dangerflied

Have a sook you [censored]

""That's not toughness, if you want toughness watch what David did today.

"That's why I think our team won the game in the end because we had guys who were prepared to do that."

Whatever mate, pretty sure you won because Melbourne didn't bring their kicking boots. Not to mention some dodgy hometown umpiring.

He should be more gracious in victory.

Id like to hear your honest opinion on it without sounding like an [censored].

In my opinion, good young players deserve game time. Bad young players shouldn't have game time wasted on them in the "hope" they'll get better, or to sell some idea of a glorious future that may or may not come.

Take out the 30 cent cone and put Viney in and we'd have come close to winning that.

I can't have Watts, at all. He embarrasses our club. We're a pretty hard team now and he sticks out like a dogs [censored]!na.

Happy with the effort, play like that and we'll easily account for Richmond, provided we kick straight.

I love Hogan and Brayshaw.

Hate Lumumba's long bombs.

Sookyfield won no friends today, Boonie Vince is a legend.

a female dog's [censored]!na.

he plays with, 'the scent of a woman'.... estrogen

^^ this. Both need to be addressed and should be addressable

Both need to be addressed if they continue to be an issue. I would not after 3 games change the way a key forward has kicked for most of his life. Its a watch point nothing more.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
