When Robbo asked him if he thinks he would stay at the MFC for his entire footy life Hogan said something like "Geez that's a pretty big ques, I'm really not to sure. ATM I'm thoroughly enjoying my footy and the club has real good direction and we've got a good core of young players coming through". He's best mates with Harmes btw and used to live together but were to competitive with each other.

Make of it what u will.

IMO if we improve and become a proper AFL side he will stay.

He certainly is a rugged individual. Refreshing to see someone not spewing forth cliche after cliche.

Hard to believe he is only 20.

Personality a bit like Jonathan Brown.

We need local girl to latch on to him and sire a few kids. Then he won't be going anywhere and we'll have a few F/Ss hopefully.

I have two daughters who I am happy to offer up....

It's how I'd answer it.

If we give him a reason to stay he'll stay. If we are stuck at the bottom of the ladder going knowhere and a club will pay him twice what we can and there's a personal reason for him to move he might move. Nothing in that is unreasonable.

Geez that was quick Jane. Do your girls know yet???

Simple as that.

Jesse loves the hard nosed players we are seeing come into the club: harmed, petracca, kent, brayshaw, viney ( mentioned), would love to see what he thinks when he sees watts pull out of contest after contest.

If we start winning games consistently and pushing for finals he will stay. But if we go down the gurgular again, he won't.

Not yet but they are Dee supporters.....

Yep couldn't c how else he could have answered it any differently unless he lied.

Geez if we r still crapola in another two yrs I think most of us would move on.

He used to love Strauss kicking it to him lace out at Casey as well. I bet he'd love Watts doing the same. Everyone wants to play with competitive guys but they want to play with skilled guys as well. So I wouldn't make it so personal. Those guys aren't just competitive, they are good!

Two for one he would probably like that!!!

Since he's come we've gone 2,4,7. If we get to 10 in 2017 that will probably be enough IMO. We don't have to reinvent the wheel we just have to keep steady progress. A tall forward mate for him would be a really big help as well I think.

By the way we need to sign Harmes up ASAP!

So competitive they had to stop living together, that's awesome.

Why does everyone seem to think that if we win games we will stop him from leaving?

Sydney were able to manufacture a metric ton of cash for Buddy and he promptly dropped any sign of loyalty and walked

It is becoming more common than uncommon for gun players to switch sides at some point in their careers

Wisely, he is staying toally non-commital in the media cos he and his agent know that elephant deal will come one day

He will be a millionaire no matter where he plays. This won't be about money and gone are the COLA days.

He will stay if we stop being crap. Simple.

Nine Perth reported that he had no plans to return to WA for footy. typical WA question. The first commentary was WA player Hogan has won't he rising star.

Only the last bit of the clip mentions he plays for Melbourne.

Well that certainly puts a dampener on things. He could have at least lied to us.

Know what you mean, but I would take the truth from Jesse over a million lies from $cully 8 days every week.

The rest is up to the club - they know what they are dealing with.

Well, he had won a couple of premierships with Hawthorn. New challenges, etc. etc., similar to Ablett.

(Also, given recent news, getting away from the pressure cooker that is Melbourne for someone with Franklin's profile.)

If that doesn't get the MFC faithful excited then nothing will....

Interesting that he mentioned Dean Kent as one of the prime up and comers.

Not surprising. Before Kent tore his hammy they were a formidable duo and had a good on field partnership.

I think losing Kent has really hurt us. He's very important to our structure and I hope this injury set back doesn't take away from his speed and power.

Those two beasts will make opponents cry for years to come.

Sign Hogen for 10 years at 1mill per year now!!!

Losing Salem and Kent for long periods really hurt us. I know we have very limited depth so all injuries sting but these two really have unique skill sets and important roles.

Awesome, Kenty is my favourite player. he has so many strings to his bow.. but best of all he is a mongrel and arrogant in a good way, like Hoges.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
