MFC MEMBERSHIP - SEASON 2015

Featured Replies

32,324 after round 1 last year. So in the past two weeks we have finally passed last year's tally. Another win against GWS and hopefully we'll get more of the unbelievers coming back to the fold with a nice boost to membership. Might yet crack the old record but 40,000 still seems like a big ask.

33283

So our big Round 1 win only effectively secured us another 700 members, taking us up to half Richmond's membership numbers. Not good enough in my view and we should all be pressuring Dees followers into becoming Dees SUPPORTERS by joining up.

~2,000 in 2 weeks is good going. it wasnt looking like we'd make 35K a while back but now we should make 37K and maybe push 40K if we win a few more early. amazing what a win can achieve - there are a lot of dees fans (hiding) out there, the team just needs to throw them a bone

C'mon Deees fans. I've signed the five human beings in my family and the cat ( whose heart really belongs to Geelong). Get on board and back your team. Let the good times roll!!!!!!

I wouldn't expect that number to climb any more now :(

Might even start going the other say if they repeat today's effort !!

33,367

Wonder what a big win on Friday Night footy vs the Tigers will do for the membership total?

Any time you feel like joining in with the supporters/volunteers who ring on a Monday or Tuesday night feel free

I'm guessing 34.5k is where it'll peak.

35k by round 1 was always a pipe-dream with two away games straight after round 1, and that Essendon loss.

A win against Richmond might jump things up but I think the club's peaked atm.

We have about 2 months left so we will pass 35k.

Win Friday night and we will pass 35k in a couple of weeks.

Well, praha and rpfc, it happened! Nineteen and the team should have a pleasant and productive phone-out on Monday and Tuesday, then!

This will probably be our last week to make a large improvement considering our draw over the next month.

If we can get to Freo like the Swans did in the 2nd half - we will be huge chance to knock them off.

We are nowhere near this team but if the conditions are right - and they are down...

100% effort is what we have seen in the 2 wins

Tackle hard & you can win

33,855 at the moment and only our second home game coming up this week. We'll top 35k, might even make 36, but that's it.

We are undefeated at the G this year. We can knock em off.

Yes and our last win was an away game for us. Keep this up and they may even award us a Friday night match next year, ironic since we are a metamorphous of the landlord.

if we cause an upset and finally get two in a row it may sway some of the fence sitters. And there are many of them.

I think a number are being swayed and will sign up before Sunday's game at the G.

Hogan-mania is helping too...

34,068.

It's amazing what winning does.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
