Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Unlikely, Balme said last night that we agreed to terms with Geelong last week, so it's essentially always been Clark for their second rounder. The only change that happened when it went to a 3 way trade was Geelong offering Colonwood Varcoe instead of a second rounder.

If they coughed up their third rounder as well and we got the Frost trade across the line today I'd be ecstatic.

So would I.

There's definitely something wrong with the Trade Week structure if a mediocre player like Travis Varcoe can single handedly hold up proceedings. Is that what is happening here?

I am still confused why the Collingwood/Brisbane (working out the Beams trade) has impacted on the Clark, Lumumba and Varcoe bit... unless there are other minor trades/upgrade of picks involved. Why did it need to be a 5 way trade ?

Apparently because Collingwood demanded it, despite our vocal intentions to do the Clark deal seperately.

Does anyone else think we should make a play for Membry?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UyxO_RSmrE

A play like that with pick 23 could force the Saints into the draft without many forward options (especially if Stanly is traded to the Cattery).

It may make them go for one of the big forwards in this draft (McCartin or Wright) leaving Brayshaw and Petracca?

Not unless we have Frost locked up before the PSD, because they'd take him instead of Membrey with their first pick.

He's nominated St Kilda so he'll get there. No point in making a play for him.

so... a deliberate ploy to hold up other trades in case they get left out of the loop.... then yeah it's a joke. the other clubs should be filthy with the pies.

How long does it take to make a deal with Collingwood? Probably as long as it takes the average Collingwood supporter to work out a basic math problem.

Everyone getting a lesson in trade 101: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH COLLINGWOOD.

The amount of bridges they are burning by dragging out this process is staggering. Hopefully clubs don't have short memories with this stuff.

Wouldn't we just take him in the PSD?

All it takes is another club to offer him a better contract and offer GWS any draft pick and he could easily get nabbed from under our nose.

Doing nothing in the hope he'll just slide to the PSD has its fair share of risks.

I don't think anyone this late in trade will coff up a pick for him. Mahoney has even said we could take him in the PSD. Therefore, Saints are our only competitor.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
