GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

On what basis?

On a trusting basis, if Melbourne want our money for memberships (Gladly will give it to them), I want to know what's going on.

Doesn't give you the right to know what's going on in people's private lives.

Dunn says he's a little disgruntled but overall it's good for Mitch.

Garland says Frawley going is what's best for him and he's a mate first and a team mate second.

2 of our senior players and better performers of the last 2 years simply don't care when 2 of our top half dozen players leave.

I yearn for the good old days of Beamer giving Brock a send off. No wonder we don't win. The jumper and the club mean nothing to these guys.

Money does.

I never once said that he wasn't depressed, and if he is more informed than us, why not share that with the people that pay his wages? Instead of bagging out upset supporters. Pretty disappointing.

Nonsense! Dunny is not bagging out all upset supporters...he is having a go at supporters who have made offensive and most likely unfounded comments directed at Clark. He is entirely within his rights to do so, particularly when he knows what Clark has been through. And to say that he should inform us of what Clark has been through is even more nonsensical...we have all known about his mental illness, and it is only now that he has decided to move elsewhere that the sour grapes are starting to ferment and he is being accused of never having depression, of being of low moral character etc etc.

The wages comment also makes no sense. The amount of abuse they have to cop from us is far worse than what a few unnamed supporters would suffer. What would you do if your employer abused you in the way that Dunn, Clark and any number of players on our list have been abused?

Personally, I'm more than happy to see him having a go at those keyboard warriors.

Well, Tom Scully will be relieved. Someone else has finally left the club on worse terms than him.

I would say they are on par tbh

Completely understand and fair enough. I just think that is asking too much!

thedeeman - you will think back to your thoughts in this thread in a few years time and shake your head, or at least for your sake I hope you do.

Dunn is just being a good friend, you are not his employer, he is not in a position to reveal what Mitch and the club should only reveal, and the situation would still be horrendous if you knew 'the whole truth' that everyone loves banging on about.

Clark wants out, the club seems utterly ambivalent about it - they moved on ages ago.

Unlike us, they have to deal with the reality of a crocked forward wanting to move whereas we are still stuck howling at the moon over what should have been when Neeld hijacked a Fremantle trade.

It's over - his issues remain his issues and we can move on.

Can't remember seeing the membership package that entitled you to detailed personal information of a leaving employee? Spare me

Don't think Roos would endorse Dunn's comments given what he quite deliberately said at the B&F.

I rate Dunn. Always have. But I'm disappointed with some of the comments he has chosen to publicly make on this issue.

Probably is asking too much even if theres a remote argument to suggest we should know more.

I for one arent surprised the club isnt more forthcoming currently. Simple explanation and possibly one followers like thedeeman might embrace, pragmatism......and timing.

Its the silly season. This is where clubs need all there wits about them and avoid those with only half as much. It serves us ( the Melbourne collective ) no purpose to expose all the dirty washing at this juncture. That just dilutes values and tarnishes reputations for no real gain ( atm ). I suspect privately the club is furious. I also think wiser heads will tap others on shoulders and suggest silence for the moment. When the dust has settled after trading and players come and go, then, and only then do I think the club will subtlely let fire a few shots across bows, might even miss and hit someone

Its all a game and the club is playing it fine. The prize is not dissemination of information, the prize is bettering the list and reducing and toxicity and the influence of nqr's.

Be patient....truth outs

Disappointed and yet it plays into the hands of any subterfuge.

Smoke and mirrors. Remember its all a silly season game

And its really Dunn's FB page??

Don't know about you guys, but personally, if a work colleague leaves my employer to take up a position elsewhere, that person is then dead to me.

If I see them on the opposite side of the street, I'll cross, walk up to them and spit in their face.

I think it's only reasonable to expect such a reaction.

Wow, you really take your job personally.

I dont think LinkedIn is for you then.

I dont think LinkedIn is for you then.

Is it for anyone except Recruiters?

If he's going to go let's demand Jordan Murdoch. I have seen a few of the possibilities thrown up and, for mine, they're fools gold. At the top of that list would be Billy Smedts. No thanks.

Then you are a nutter.

Think a few need to recalibrate their sarcasm detectors.

I don't think so.

Go back and read Machsy's other musings on this thread.

Geelong can spare us the trade of offcuts for a bloke who can tear opposition apart. It's as if we should be glad that they would even consider offering up Varcoe. You want something, then give us something of equal worth back.

I liked your post Machsy, not because I agree with it, but whilst I'm having a coffee, it certainly made me laugh & has made my day! Well done

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
